It gives salt. The issue is that it's Salty going down, no coating - and when you take on an empty stomach you will get nausea as the salt burns a hole in your stomach (figuratively) where the concentrated pill is. Drinking water doesn't help because it bypasses the stomach. You'd have to drink a waterfall. Also I got this weird issue where after I took 2 or 3 with a lot of water for the first time, I had gratuitous, to the point I probably couldn't drowned in it, of saliva produced. I had to keep swallowing the saliva and it became gross. I didn't know a human could produce that much. Didn't happen after. I stopped using these without food. Even then they can cause issues with food if it hasn't dissolved.

Good product at good price

They stopped my leg cramps and over time improved my thinking. When they began to upset my stomach I learned to dissolve them in a small amount (1.5 oz or so) of water and drink it down quickly in spite of the taste. A life saver for one who doesn't hang on to her salt!

I don't like the taste of so much salt at one time so try to swallow with lots of water. Wish they would act within the body faster.
