YOU NEED TO GET THIS, LIKE YESTERDAY!!!
This item is an absolute dream. It was not the easiest to assemble with what tools came with the item to assemble it with. It came with a very small and weak screw driver that could not handle the assembly. You have to screw a screw into wood and there isn’t a pre-cut hole that it goes into, it just gets screwed in however you get to screw it in with what tools you have access to in order to assemble it. Because of that, mine ended up a little bit crooked. Other than that, it’s a godsend. Aside from the fact that you just can’t use larger/thicker yarns with this due to size limitations, I am absolutely in love with this thing. I love it so much that I got one for my mom and she loves hers just as much as I love mine! It’s light weight and really portable which is nice. It’s also very stable and not wobbly despite being crooked. I don’t know what I would do now without it. It makes my life so much easier when crocheting because I don’t have to keep pausing what I’m working on to pull more yarn loose from the ball so that I can keep going. It’s also very nice looking. My aunt that has been crocheting for 30 years saw this a few days ago at a family craft night and was shocked when she saw it and immediately jealous that she didn’t have one and didn’t know that this existed! If you’re on the edge of whether you need it or should get it, the answer is YES, GIRL. YOU NEED IT. It’s a huge game changer. Xoxo, a fellow crochet girlie

Love this thing!
Like others commented, I needed a power tool to put this together correctly. Once it’s together, it works great. No snagging and the magnet holds everything securely. Thinking of getting another one, as I like patterns that use more than one ball at the same time. I did try to load two balls together on the spindle, but this doesn’t work well for me, as I like the yarn positioned with one ball on my left and one on my right.

A fantastic must-have for crocheting/knitting
This is the third yarn holder I have bought recently. The last two have been for gifts. While the recipients love the ease of use and the difference that it makes in the speed they finish a project, both holders had one small issue. The screw in the base would not go in all of the way, so it wasn't below the edge of the hole opening, making the screw slightly outside of the base. This made the holder a bit wobbly and could potentially scratch the surface it is placed on. They drilled the pilot hole a tiny bit deeper, and now it works beautifully! I would NOT recommend doing that unless you are skilled with a drill. It would be too easy to drill through it, possibly cracking the base. Overall, we all love our yarn holders. We would highly suggest this to anyone wanting to speed up their sewing and lessen the frustration. As a side note- we used the yarn spinner to create yarn "cakes" that fit perfectly on the post.

Useful, compact
The quality of this yarn holder is nice. It comes unassembled, but screwdriver is included. The only problem I had was getting the screw on the platform where the yarn sits fully driven into the wood. I was afraid of cracking the wood so I left it since it's on the bottom and didnt affect how the product works. The magnet that holds the post on works great and the yarn ball spins as expected. Overall a nice product.

Strong magnet, works well for yarn with outside pulls
This yarn holder works well, as the magnet that holds the yarn spool is very strong. However, it was difficult to put together, even though it looks simple - the screws are very difficult to get into the wood properly. I do wish that the base was weighted more heavily to make the whole thing more sturdy. This yarn holder works especially well when used in conjunction with a yarn winder, to wind skeins of yarn from outside pulls into a sturdy yarn cake with a convenient center pull.

Genius!
Crocheting just got easier with this yarn dispenser. Yarn spools off the holder at the slightest touch, eliminating the need to stop and pull yarn from the skein. Be aware that the dispenser arrives in a "flat box" and requires a minimal amount of assembly. Be sure to have a sturdy Phillips head screwdriver on hand as the one included in the kit is not heavy enough to turn the 2 wood screws, which are also included. Once assembled, though, this device is craft-changing!

Assembly screws are wrong size and shape
The item looks like it would work, but both of the screws that came with it were the wrong size, and for the smaller one there's no indent in the wood so you can securely screw it all the way in. It's really weird they would get the screws so wrong when the item comes packed very nicely with its own screwdriver.I don't like having to return it just for the screws, so I eventually found some substitute screws in my junk drawer to put it together. But I don't know how long that will last since they aren't really the right size either.I also don't like the fact that the wood is stained a bright orangey-red wood tone rather than the rich brown shown in the product photos. The wood finish is rough and looks cheap. On the plus side, the magnet seems to hold the yarn fairly well. I'll update after using it for a while, but it's really annoying that the screws that come with it don't work.

Fantastic time saver!
This has been a fantastic work saver for me. No more having to stop to unwind thread - just pull as you go! I love this! I only wish I had found it a few year ago. 😂
