A tin, that says what it does on the tin.
Brilliant piece of kit, fits all of my ammunition in perfectly and is water tight. Throw in some desiccant packs and they are spot on, the ammo crate holds them right and stops them sliding around in the vehicle. Lockable box gives security too. Seller posted quickly and packaging was second spot on for protecting them.

I've struggled with the number of stars for this review because MTM makes decent quality products for a low cost point-- the return on investment is good, even if I have some concerns about the product at hand. I was admittedly nervous about purchasing plastic ammo cans at all but figured that for the $25 cost, coupled with Prime's return policy, it was worth the risk. By comparison, it typically costs me about $25 to get a pair of real ammo cans and no crate-- ergo, this product has a fantastic price point. On the con side of the argument, while the molded plastic appears strong and good in terms of structural build, the color is a bit spotty here and there... which makes me concerned about its long-term durability. I'm also looking at the plastic snap locks and grit my teeth in nervousness that they will hold under the weight of a thousand 9mm rounds when I pick the can up by the carry handle. This is what tempts me to go 4 stars instead of 5... but I hate to give stars based on my nervousness about what MIGHT happen vs. the reality of my experience thus far, which has been good with those plastic locks holding under the weight of a thousand rounds... so far... Ultimately, for 25-ish dollars you get four "ammo cans" that come in a nice organizational crate with handles--and BTW, anybody who thinks they're going to carry four fully packed ammo cans at once is nuts--and four cans for that price aint bad, even if they are nowhere near as strong as real metal ammo cans will ever be. My plan is to keep only one or two of these cans loaded with ammo, and the other in the crate s will serve as organizers for tools, spare parts, and other equipment specific to whichever gun(s) I happen to be competing with on that particular date. I have one crate now, but if it works out in the long term, I'll purchase some more, so that each crate will be marked and loaded specific to a gun: this way I can just grab a crate and go based on what gun I'll be competing with on that particular trip. This will dramatically cut down on my organizational/packing time and reduce the chances of me forgetting "that one thing" that might mean the difference between finishing the competition or going home early. EDIT TO ADD: I'm actually buying another set right now! It's a nice system to have one can full of ammo for a specific gun, and the can next to it holds the magazines, magazine pouches, and small gun-specific items like squib rods, etc. This way you've got everything needed for a specific gun or two in one mobile spot, but the crate doesn't get so heavy a single person can't carry it. A few notes... 1. These ammo boxes seem to be slightly smaller in volume than actual boxes; I suspected this by looking at them but know it because I emptied a real one full of ammo into one of these, and I could tell the smaller amount of volume that way. It wasn't a huge difference, but something worth knowing. 2. The crate is specifically formed to these plastic boxes and will not accept real ammo cans of the same size. Again something most folks can guess just by looking at the photos, but I tested and know it for a fact so am sharing here. Basically for true long term storage I'll continue to use real cans because they are sturdy, sealed, and... I still have them. For actual transportation to the range and competitions, this is very handy and will be used for immediate use purposes.

These are awesome. Every little container holds 500rds of 5.56 without issues. I just dumped all the ammo I had in steel ammo cases into these carriers. It's quite a bit lighter and much more organized. I also love the fact that they are stackable. Will definitely get more. Highly recommendable. Also love that they are reasonably priced and USA made. Quality product.
