Elements of Design EV8028 Faucetier Mounting Ring for Vessel Sink, Brushed Nickel

This was the perfect mounting piece for my new vessel sink! I did the whole project myself and didn't realize until I was in the middle of it that I'd need this part. The local big box stores had nothing but Amazon came through with a quick delivery of exactly what I needed!I secured the metal ring to the counter with silicon caulk, and ran a bead around the crack at the base. The mounting ring has a rubber O-ring in a channel on the anterior surface, which is concealed by the sink and pop-up drain assembly. No silicon was needed on that face and the sink is securely mounted, although if you insist on testing the boundaries, the sink will move a tiny bit if you grab it and yank hard, but that would be stupid. Lol.I'm very satisfied with the heft and finish of the mounting ring. It really dresses up my new sink and vanity! I give it five stars!

WOW! When I first unpacked these two rings they were much larger and heavier than I had expected. Large & Heavy are Good! The original "contractor grade" installation of the two vessel sinks in my son's Brooklyn condo were mounted directly onto a simple hole in the counter top, with just a limited area under the drain flange for plumbers' putty. Absolutely no way to securely tighten or seal. Because of movement, both sinks began leaking from both the drain flanges and the counter tops under the sink. Also, no way to be able to clean under the sinks.These "Elements of Design" mounting rings afforded a very well fitting and secure mounting method. The top o-ring is small enough that it hides under the drain flange and is not visible (both sinks are clear glass) and the large o-rings on the bottom side completely seal the sink from the counter top, thus not allowing anything to leak by. I sealed the drain flange with a liberal amount of silicone around the flange and also around the inner circumference (1/2") of the glass mounting hole, and while tightening the nut underneath the counter, you could both feel and see the two mounting ring o-rings compressing until there was firm direct contact.These mounting rings resulted in a very snug and solid installation -- they look terrific and are absolutely leak free. An added bonus is that they afford room under the sinks to allow wiping up any counter spillage and splashing. I love them!

I ordered a vanity that came with a vessel sink but the hardware was chrome. I am doing a remodel with brushed brass so I ordered a vessel faucet that came with ring mount in lovely satin brass... close enough...problem was the ring I got was 3 inch diameter and the hole in the counter top was 3.5 inches so the ring would fall through. I couldn’t find a 4 inch brushed or satin brass ring anywhere so I ordered this one in polished shiny brass. It is heavy and great quality. When I placed it on my glass—yes glass counter top the black ring at the bottom made sure it didn’t move one bit just as it is supposed to work. I wish they made brushed or satin brass but this will work. Plus it will be sitting under a frosted glass vessel sink so the different finish won’t be to glaring. Overall great mounting ring. Will place pictures when project is done.

CHEAP, UNCOMFORTABLE AND THE SELLER MAKES YOU PAY FOR RETURNS....LOOK ELSEWHERE

Expensive but you get what you pay for. My old mounting rings were corroding and when first installed I needed to crank on the drain nut really hard to keep the vessel from wobbling. These have thick gaskets on both top and bottom and being wider than what I replaced, the vessel is much more stable. I hope the finish stays intact over the long haul but only time will tell. Right now, I think buying these was a good decision. I avoided the Decolav ones because a reviewer showed pictures of how they corroded and had no luck in having Decolav replace them. It might be best to not use harsh caustic cleaners on any non-chrome plumbing fixtures. Chrome, being around forever, probably is the most durable although dated for my tastes.

Excellent product

This ring is truly 4 inches in diameter as advertised—unlike the other ones that advertise their product to be 4 inches but are actually only 3 inches! It looks very nice and matches our sink and fixtures. Now we can finally install our favorite vessel sink! It saved our remodeling project! Thanks!
