Smooth
Very happy with this product. I live in Phoenix and have used this on exterior windows in our sunroom. Still let’s in light and can see out but entirely blocks the heat!! I could feel it get cooler as I put it up. I bought another roll to use on the tin roof of that room. True to size. Easy :)

It's Mylar.
It's Mylar, it reflects red and blue light like it should. If handled with care can produce a mirror like finish. It reflects light in a great way. Light dispersion is effective. It's a cheap solution to a common problem. I just taped it to my shelving system and it has increase my growing efficiency. No leggy veg sproutlings this year.

Strong and work's well. I'd recommend this if having any light issues.

A wicked-good roll of silver mylar that's easy to implement
Could be used for a ground reflector for sunlight, beneath plants. True.Would work great on the walls of a grow room or inside a grow tent to reflect every ray of light to the plants, where it counts the most. Very true.I'll be using a bit of this 4 foot wide by 50 foot long roll for a little bit of both of the aforementioned roles...howeverI put this into my vinyl plotter and cut squares to fit my multi-pane windows in my kitchen. No adhesive backing? No problem. A cheap can of Aqua Net hairspray applied to the glass makes this mylar adhere to the inside of the windows like a champ! Using a mini-sqeegie seals things down bubble free! (this trick also works with tinted plastic)In the summertime, over 1/2 of the windows in my home get sunlight from 11am~8pm - my northwest facing windows. This mylar is going to provide a great deal of relief from the direct sunlight, the heat, and the cost of keeping the house cool.Dual pane windows ya know? This mylar goes in the interstitial space between them. Have done this with aluminum foil before but it looks really terrible. Not this time...I'm ready for summer! This mylar is super reflective, thick and easy to cut with a Snitty cutter, scissors or even by the blade of my vinyl plotter/cutter.There are just too many good uses for this stuff. I'd recommend that any craftspeople who don't already have a roll of this material should get one!I've wintered-in our potted plants and give them artificial light in my work room - we're going to make some reflector panels for them tonight!Great stuff - two thumbs up!

Open them up and check them before the return/refund window is over or you get this.
I purchased 2 of these rolls and the first one I used this season and I planned on saving the second one until next season but I expanded my garden and when opening the second roll to use I came across this defect. It was through 3/4 of the roll. I purchased these months ago and its way past the return/refund window. First time customer last time customer.

Reflective and durable
The mylar arrived in a roll wrapped in plastic in a long tube. It was undamaged and in good conditionIt's perfectly smooth, no creases, flaws or marks. The mylar is as reflective as you'd expect and a very convenient size for so many projects.I plan to use this to line a DIY grow tent for starting vegetable seeds for my garden and to grow lettuce and greens through the winter. I also want to use it to cover the back and sides of the stainless steel shelves that I use for seed starting to reflect the grow lights and to cover it up after the sun goes down. Lastly, I want to build cold frames to keep some cold weather veg going through the winter and I want to line them with the mylar to reflect what little light we get.Another use, especially for a wide width such as this, is to line the north side of a greenhouse or hoop house for the same reason-to reflect light in the winter. It helps the plants and increases the light to heat any passive warming components in the structure.A smaller version would be to build a small light box to keep seedlings growing straight and not get leggy before they get hardened off.I can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit so I can start using this to get my garden started.

great for an indoor grow house
We have an indoor hydrogarden in our basement, which means we need to use artificial light, especially in the wintertime. We have added this Mylar film against the cardboard walls that we've built and it cuts down on the amount of light we need to use.Keep in mind, this is a fairly thin material, so you'll need to be careful with it because it crinkles easily. But it is a perfect addition and a must for growing indoors.NOTE: As an Amazon Vine reviewer, I receive this product without paying for it directly; however, I have to claim the full value of this product on my taxes as this counts as a taxable gift and I must pay taxes for the taxable value of this item.

Reflective but not particularly durable
When I say not very durable, I mean not even used yet not durable. My wife left this roll outside thinking since it was an outdoor gardening product it wouldn't hurt it if it got wet. Well, it did. When she did open the roll, the mylar had separated from the plastic and left her with basically a clear plastic drop cloth. When she unrolled it farther she found it became viable but at that point she didn't want to use it because she figured it would continue to come apart once exposed outside in the elements. I'm not sure what actually caused the failure so I'm trying not to be too harsh but one would think a product designed to be in contact with the ground outside in a garden would be able to handle getting wet while still in the original packaging.
