Great machine and excellent customer service
This product is really good value for money and an absolute boon if you need to travel for work. Working mostly from home but with limited space, I had no room on my desk for a large printer or scanner. This was perfect - easy to store and quick and simple to set up. I use it solely by bluetooth via my mobile and it's been great. However having only previously printed with a ribbon, I recently purchased some thermal paper to use the printer in thermal mode. The print quality was very good. However after printing around 12 sheets or so, it refused to print any further, with the app prompting me to reinsert the ribbon - this was odd as I was printing thermally. After trying several things, eg downloading the app again, re-setting the printer, trying a different cartridge with the ribbon removed, I eventually and if I'm honest, without much expectation emailed Phomemo Customer Services. I was pleasantly surprised by the prompt and courteous reply - and after sending the firmware details, I received an email telling me that the next time I opened the app, I would be asked to update it as they had updated the firmware. Intrigued, I opened the app and sure enough, there was the request. I updated the app, set up the printer and bingo - the issue was resolved and I was able to print over 100 pages yesterday without any issues. I was impressed by the hardware - but now I'm even more impressed by their Customer Services and aftercare!

Seems very well built, but not really easy to connect to Windows 11 and short on clear instructions
The idea of not needing ink is very appealing and as my old all in one printer broke recently, I decided to try this. I must say, I found it terribly difficult to pair for use on my laptop. It took literally hours to complete as instructions are simply not adequate and Windows 11 & instructions on the laptop are even worse. The pairing process for the printer was appalling on my HP Stream laptop, so this is only partially the fault of the printer. It pairs for recognition easily, but won't operate on bluetooth------I discovered, eventually, that I have to operate from "printers" in "devices" on the laptop, following bluetooth pairing and the options for printing type/size etc are very limited without the Phomema app which cannot be installed on the Windows 11 HP Stream laptop. It is also worth mentioning that one must disable "Allow Microsoft to control printer" and to name the Phomema as the default printer in settings on the laptop to get the printer to work.I have now got it working, with normal paper, but am finding it impossible to fit items onto one page as text is rather oversized and I have, as yet, found no means of reducing the size of the print. I have tried out use on a Doro 'phone and there are no problems to report- easy connection, app download and function so with android more easily and the abve issues do not occur. Due to screen size, I prefer to use my laptop (I am an elderly lady) and it remains to be seen, how useful the printer will be for my purposes. I intend to try thermal paper and to try to produce mail labels in fairly large quantities.

Great little printer
Great little printer. Wanted it for shipping labels and does the job really well. One thing I learnt was make sure you feed the paper in dead straight or the paper will crinkle and could effect the printing of a bar code and it may not scan properly

Don't buy it.
I was so pleased when the printrr arrived, i read all the instructions hah,, to no avail. The very first letter i had it print was mangled inside the printer. I opened the lid and the letter was glued to the ribbon. It would not separate instead it ripped apart, so the ribbon 'cartridge' that came with the printer was destroyed without printing a damned thing. Lucky i ordered a pack of two spare ribbons but not a first (nor last) choice for a printer. The images are so dark, no matter how 'light' you make them, no matter how much you reduce the 'dark'. I tried some photos but absolutely no use to anyone. 1 star because I can't give a negative score like minus 10 stars.

The carbon rIbbon keeps coming out
The media could not be loaded. This printer looks small and portable. The size that will fit in backpack or some larger laptop bags. It comes with a hard protective case which is handy to carry around on its own. There are two types of printing you can do:1. normal paper printing with the carbon ribbon - The printer has a preinstalled carbon ribbon which is removeable. You may use normal A4 sheets for printing, but the ribbon is perishable. One new ribbon is claimed to print 45 sheets of A4. Unfortunately, not sure if it is an isolated case, my printer keeps spitting out the ribbon every time I print. Tried to understand how this works, I then found the white roller that suppose to hold the used ribbon has no grip at the end like the blue one, so I doubt the white roller is rotating correctly and that may be the cause, but I can't really check it while printing as you can't see it while printing. It is quite annoying that after every sheet I printed, I will need to manually roll the loose ribbon back into the roller. The ribbon is thin and prone to static, not an easy job.2. Printing with thermal paper - You may remove the rollers and the carbon ribbon for thermal printing. This works well with thermal paper but won't work with normal A4 paper. No issues at all. The printout is clear and the process is fast. Not sure if it is only mine that has this problem, good as a thermal printer, not good for normal paper in my experience. The app is easy to use. It has some free contents that you can download for printing. There is also options to install app on PC or Google Chrome extension for printing. This is advertised as tattoo stencil printing but no stencil paper or thermal paper included in the pack.Overall, a pricey product if the normal printing function is not working. But good quality in thermal printing.
