This is a really cool light. I just bought it and it showed up today. However, it will not pair with the app. I’m unsure if I actually care -- but I did read that people like using the app with the light when camping. Any ideas or tips?Using iPhone 15 Pro, latest iOS, so should not be any compatibility issues I’d imagine.

The media could not be loaded. It’s got everything. It’s difficult to review because it is so full of features I am not sure where to start.Watch the video, it shows many of the lights features that are all controlled by the app. Basic lighting feature can be controlled directly from the top panel on the light but the best features are in app only.It is rechargeable via a USB C port (cable included) and you can also use it as a backup power bank for other devices using the standard USB output port. In my testing so far battery life is great. Over 8 hours or run time (on the highest brightness) and recharging is fairly fast. I left it in standby mode (on and connected to the app but no light actually on) for over a week and would randomly open the app and turn the light on, switch colors, basically play around with it a few minutes, then turn the light off but leave it connected to the app for that entire week. Today when I shot the video for this review, after that week of playing around with it, it still had 33% power left from the last full charge a week ago. 7000mah battery.It comes with a hook that screws in the handle so you can hang it up. The main light section can be removed from the larger diffuser cube and it can be used with all the same features just in a smaller size. The overall size and weight on this light is good. Not to big or small, not very heavy at all.It comes with instructions (which I might actually read one day) but the app makes it pretty simple to inderstand all the feature and use it right out of the box.The colors on the lights are just amazing. Normally I’m not a fan of the current trend for RGB lights everywhere but this light goes way past basic RGB.It says it has 8 colors but using the app you can blend those colors and with the adjustable brightness for every color you really have an infinite amount of color options. The video doesn’t do it justice. My favorite color so far is a dark cobalt blue sort of hue. When I read the instructions I will add it to my favorites so I can pull it up whenever I feel like it. It has a separate control section on the app for basic lighting colors like cool white, daylight and warm white, and you can adjust those to your needs or mood just like the colored lights.It’s waterproof so no need to worry about a little rain while campingIt has preset controls for a bug light , a strobe light, a party light and an emergency SOS light.I actually shot two videos for this review, the one attached and one showing the lights, without the bottom section and just using the controls on the top of the main section. Apparently I can only add one video though so…. just take my word for it. It’s great either way you use it.I haven’t even started playing around with setting up favorites or using the timer feature.As for the price…. $99 is a bit steep but when I consider the features and ease of use along with the battery life, I’m okay with the price. It’s a great light I can take anywhere and use in so many different ways.You can even remove the hook that comes with it and attach. It to a tripod.You can also store the charging cable, hook, instructions and mini tripod (not included, I just happen to have one) inside the white light diffuser section and have everything ready to go whenever you need it.I mean really, what more could anyone want in a light?

Yeah it’s expensive. Good equipment often is.This is a robust, feature rich light. The product listing and description does not do it justice. Rather than repeat what you can already get from the listing, I’ll talk about a few of my observations.The battery life seems to exceed what’s advertised. The box diffuser is removable, making this an effective spotlight and an area light in one. The controls on the light itself are pretty basic but useful, to truly get what this light is capable of you must use the app. The app unlocks customizable colors, brightness settings, timers, preset and custom scenes, etc., and is well designed, familiar (especially if you have other “smart” lights in your home or equipment collection), easy to use, and responsive. I do wish more features were accessible without having to pick up my phone. While the handle and screw-in hook are both very sturdy, the hook sticks out when the handle is folded. And if I choose to remove the hook for safe storage because of the way it sticks out, there’s no real way to keep it with the light other than storing it in the diffuser. That makes me a little nervous having it bounce around in the plastic and against the LEDs - doesn’t feel safe. I’ve got a similar light from another maker where the hook is permanently installed but folds down against the handle so it doesn’t protrude as much or at all. I appreciate that part of the design on that other light. Last thing - it’s weather resistant, but to what degree? I can find no mention of what it’s rated for.Overall, my issues are minor and really don’t detract from a very good, versatile pice of equipment that I’m very happy to add to my collection

I didn't think I'd be as impressed as I am with this area camp light by Dometic. First, the quality is great, the handle opens and closes smoothly, and it stays put wherever I want to leave it. I was worried about the removable lamp cover, thinking that it might pop off and wind up lost somewhere. Not the case with this one. It has a rubber gasket around it that keeps it super snug, and a bit of force is needed in order to pull it off and put back on too. The buttons are easy to press, have a satisfying clicking sound. Love the screw on hook, this will be my go-to tent light. It being app-enabled is another reason for being my new tent light, since I don't have to get up from my sleeping bag to turn off the light.I really like the different light tones, but my favorite has to be the bug light. Not only does it keep the bugs away, the yellow tone reminds me of a fire. Very happy with it, would absolutely recommend it. Totally worth its price, which was something I was not so excited about. But, I know the Dometic brand is top quality and performance, and so I gave it a chance, and I'm so glad I did.

i always love items that are multifunctional besides their primary use, and this camp light is just that. As a light it’s very helpful and you can change the brightness up and down, you can also choose and change colors, which is fun! There is an app if you want to get even more options. Additionally it can be used as a bug lamp, and several other presets, but I especially like that it can be used as an emergency SOS light. No car should be without one! It also can be used to charge your devices, as it has a usb port as well as a C port with included cable. It has a hook if you want to hang it up in a tent or RV porch, etc or even a boat, since it’s waterproof, too! This light has many features and is a great item!
