Great for temporary training, DO NOT LEAVE ON PERMINENTLY
When it works it WORKS! I have a Husky and German Shepherd we recently started raising chickens. My husky attacked and killed one, which is why we made this purchase. She has really thick fur so we have to keep it a little tighter than a normal "2 finger" collar rule, but she only has it on when she is outside and in our presence. With our husky, we keep it pretty high to get through her fur; 80 for vibrate and 60 for shock. For our German shepherd its much lower; 30 for vibrate and 20 for shock. It works really well when it works. both have learned that vibrate is a warning and its time to move away. if they don't listen they get shocked. After 2 weeks of use both happily keeps 20' away from my chicken run most days. ADVICE: We have found that the collar has to be charged every night. The remote every few days.

Worked great, until it didn't
We used this collar a handful of times with our retriever. It was effective and had excellent range. The settings were easy to use and allowed us to adjust our training as needed. We used the collar while swimming in the river a couple times and it stopped working (pretty close to 3 months after first use). Going to buy a different brand next time.

Lowest setting is way too high for proper training
Here's my honest review of this device. I love ecollars and have seen dogs do complete 180's when properly utilized.I tested the shock on myself at level 1 to see how it feels (you should always do this with new ecollars!). Ouch! That's not right, for level one...it felt like the highest settings on a quality ecollar. We tested to test the voltage and wow! 13 volts on the lowest setting? For reference, the highest setting on a Garmin Delta Sport is 12.5 volts. The highest setting on this device goes past 80 volts....why would it ever need to be that high? There's no excuse for that; that's just scary.Ecollar training is a wonderful thing but please don't try to train your dog with this device...this thing hurts. 13 volts is way too high! I was hoping with 99 levels that it would start at like, 1 volt or something.Anyway, if you genuinely care about your dog and want to actually train it, save up just a little bit more money and get a better ecollar. A Garmin Delta Smart is 100 dollars after mail in rebate and that's great, it's a great tool for real training. This one? Not so much.

Of you like consistency don't buy this!
Only works every once and a while, it's a good thing we only need it for a min to get a point across. I'm not sure WHAT the problem is we have to resync it every day the channel on the collar will change without notice. It beeps every other time you push the button.

3 settings- sound vibration and shock
Ahhhhh oh how I love this thing!! Our male dog is very difficult to deal with. We have tried literally everything we have heard of to control this dog. It was actually the trainer who told us to get a shock collar. We were not crazy of the thought but this dog was out of control. The barking was ALL day!! We purchased it and we could not be happier. This has 3 functions: vibration, sound and shock. We have only had to use the vibration. It has literally been life changing. It took his horrible behaviors and made him so much better. It’s really been a great purchase. I love the fact that we just hit the button for vibration and he stops.

Three strikes
You’d think I’d learn. This was my third e-collar purchased in the last 4 months, all in the same price range. I’ve returned two of them, the first was kept beyond the 30 day return limit. Two different brands, but seemingly manufactured by the same or similar companies. They all worked fine until they stopped working, usually after getting wet (thought advertised as waterproof). One quit after an overnight charge, as recommended by the manufacturer. These are simply cheap collars that just don’t hold up under moderate use. A minor point, but worth mentioning that the instructions are written in tortured English, an indication that the manufacturer isn’t willing to pay a moderate fee for quality translation. The user can figure them out, but they do do cause a chuckle here and there. Maybe you’ll have better luck with yours, but my experience is that these are unreliable.

We have only used this approx. 6-8 times and ...
We have only used this approx. 6-8 times and already the rubber coating on one of the prongs is coming off. We hesitate to use it now, as with an exposed prong, this may be harmful to our dog.Unfortunately, we only recently started using it and now our return date has passed, so we do not have the option for a replacement.
