RUSTINSQuick Dry Polyurethane Varnish Gloss Clear 250ml

I have used this for a external wood door.This brought out the grain in the wood very well. It covers very easily and dried quickly.Brushes cleaned under the tap very easily.I put three coats on my door inside and out and all sides to be sure it is covered well.I still have more than two thirds of the tin left.Great value, great cover I would recommend this.

Dark Oak colour difficult to obtain from DIY stores. Easy to use & clean up afterwards. I found it needs three coats, but that's acceptable. Previous experience suggests it is durable.

Have applied 4 coats to a Oak butchers block worktop being used for a bathroom vanity topWanted a Matt finish rather than gloss and this delivers very little sheen. However it does darken the wood more than I would likeQuick drying, first couple of coats raised grain slightly and needed to flatten/de nibTime will tell how resilient it is to water marks in a bathroomOverall happy with the product

Went on really easy and gave a lovely finish, so good I bought a second tub!

Drying time is excellent especially taking into account that we are now in winter. Found that four thin layers provide to best results. Used a brush & foam roller (to smooth the brush strokes out). Sanded In between coats with 120 / 180 / 240 grid sandpaper. Also used water based wet wipes to remove any dust before recording. Important to stir can well. Product cleans up very easily with a little bit of liquid hand soap and warm water. I do not bother to clean foam roller in between coats - just put it in a zip lock bag.

Compact yet exceptionally enduring.Dries fast and applies effortlessly.Absolutely love it!

Advantages: it's water-soluble, so super easy to clean brushes, and it doesn't smell at all. It dries very quickly (recoat-able after 2 hours). Disadvantages: despite putting on three coats, I would not describe the result as a true gloss varnish. Maybe 'satin', at a pinch. It's impossible to tell how durable it is (I've only just put it on a few days ago), but I hope as a polyurethane varnish, it will be. Although it looks creamy-white in the tin, it dries to a transparent finish. Despite the difficulties of using oil-based varnishes (such as yacht varnish), I might go for that next time, as at least I can be certain of a nice gloss finish.

Did what it said on the tin! Smaller tin than anticipated, but a bit goes a long way. Comes up a bit darker but looks great.
