There were multiple months out of the year that sun interference prevented my garage door from closing reliably. Performance was so bad that in fact I had to opt out of Amazon in garage deliveries because drivers were not able to close my door. The moment I installed these sun shields on the photo eyes of my Liftmaster rig, the door has closed every time without interruption or fail. The install literally took 1 minute and provided an instant fix.

Works exactly as advertised. Solved my problem. My garage door faces southeast and the door would not close when the sun was shining on the sensors in the morning. Swapping the sensors from one side of the garage door to the other did not help. Note that I had to install a sun shield on both the emitter and the receiver to get the result that I desired.

I have a southern facing garage door, so at certain times of the year, I have problems with the door closing both in the morning and the afternoon as the sun bears down directly on the sensors. I thought this would do the trick, but it has worsened. Now anytime of the day when the sun hits either one from any angle, I believe the heat is distorting the beam inside the plastic tube so much so, that my doors don't even try to close. I'll be removing them.

We recently had Lift Master garage door openers installed at our home. As we approached the summer solstice and the sun kept setting farther north in the western sky, the evening sun would shine directly at our safety sensors and the doors wouldn't close unless I blocked the sun with my shadow. But after installing these shields, the doors are back to working as they should. Great idea!

They work great wish we had them two years ago

Every day when the sun was facing my garage. My garage sensors would always act as if something was under the door and would not go down. After doing some research I found that the sun can interfere with the garage sensors and cause them not to work properly. I added these sun shield protectors over each sensor on my garage and I no longer have this issue when the sun is facing my garage. These were a life saver and kept me from having to replace my garage opener unit. Thank. I would definitely recommend these to my friends and family.

These were not very easy to install, and they only helped prevent sun blockage on one side of my garage. The left side still suffers and prevents me from closing it most of the time. Annoying. Would not buy again.
