Glad I got this vs other top rated choices
easy to apply; for my small kitchen the amount in a 1 liter bottle is way more than I needed as only a quite thin coating need be applied (two coats recommended, the second applied while the first coat is still wet); I wish they sold smaller sizes as the price is high, but the product is easy to apply and seems to work well. I noticed no real change in color or appearance after I applied it to white granite. There is some smell but not as bad as some chemicals I have used (I have no comparison to similar products), but I would suggest a mask and rubber gloves. It did irritate my eyes a bit, but when I had adequate ventilation with fans it had less effect.

Amazing Product
This was recommended by our installer after we had some quartzite counters installed. He left me a small remnant so I did some testing prior to using. I compared it to dupont bullet proof which I normally use. The result is unbelievable. The Akemi completely sealed the surface against any type of stain. I tested water, red wine, oil, and tomato sauce. All the items just beaded up on the surface and were easy to wipe off. Nothing penetrated the stone. The dupont bullet proof did not do so well with the oil. The akemi was easy to apply and did not change the character of the stone. I am still amazed how everything now beads up on the surface of the stone.I was also going to use this on my marble backsplash. I did a sample test because I was worried about the grout. The product changed the color of the grout on my test piece. I would recommend you do a test before using it on grout. I ended up using the bulletproof on the backsplash because it did not discolor the grout.

Working well to protect my quartzite and granite
This stuff is working great. I have Mont Blanc quartzite in 4 bathrooms and water just sits on top of it and wipes right off without staining/etching. It's been 3 months. I plan to add more at the 6 month mark. It's really easy. My installer told me to clean the quartzite with a paper towel with rubbing alcohol before I added more sealer. I wore nitrile gloves and just used a papertowel to wipe a very thin coat over the counters and let it dry. It did not change the color of my quartzite which is white with gray veining. I also used it on my granite in the kitchen and it worked really well. It doesn't take much so this will last quite a while. It's not as thick or heavy like other sealants I've used and goes on easily.

So far, so good. Used on Danby Marble
We applied this a second time after our installers did a quick hasty job of "sealing" our Imperial Danby Marble. We haven't noticed any stains. This product does not prevent etching, which is common with marble. Keep that in mind, no product will.

Superior product, highly suggest.
Nothing else on the market compares with this product, it does cost a bit more but worth every penny. I do my stone walk in shower and my kitchengranite counter tops, the application last about a year and the results are instantly obvious once the product is applied and the surface looks newagain with that deep shine. Water just beads up and so far nothing has stained the countertops.

The best of the best
This is quite simply the best stone sealer made. I have a white marble counter top in a semi-matte finish. In short, it was like a sponge for stains. Tests I performed showed that oil and wine could stain it permanently within mere seconds of exposure. I tried several sealers, including the Dupont Stone Tech and 511 and Aquamix brands and found them to be utterly useless. There is only one other sealer I could find that offers comparable performance to the Akemi Nano: Tenax Ager (not their other varieties however). The Tenax Ager has only one problem, it is a stone darkener which is fine if you want to enhance the pattern of a darker stone but not ideal for white marble, which can gain a slight brownish tint with application. The Akemi did not alter my stone's color whatsoever and guards it effectively from staining. I applied it by saturating the surface with as much of the Akemi as it would take, letting it soak in for several minutes. If it absorbed the sealer fully in areas I would apply more. Then after a few minutes I wiped off the excess. After a day I repeated the treatment using the same process, so my countertops are fairly saturated with the stuff. Had Thanksgiving months back at my place during which my countertop was subjected to abuse (people spilling wine and greasy gravy on it). I escaped that episode without any stains and have since been stain free. I really think this is remarkable stuff. The Tenax Ager too is incredible, but like I said alters the color. If I ever get a darker counter top I would certainly also consider using the Tenax Ager. But you absolutely can't go wrong with the Akemi Nano. It blows those other products I mentioned out of the water.

Bought and tested 6 sealers...
Have a patio going in made of Buffalo Stone so I took the trouble to buy and test some sealers with the hope I could find a way to prevent staining from dropped food and drink.Bought: 511 Porous Plus, StoneTech Bulletproof Sealer, StoneTech Heavy Duty Sealer, Akemi Nano-Effect Stain Repellant, Akemi Super Stain Repellent and AquaMix Penetrating Sealer.Soaked samples of stone in each and let cure for a day. Put a drop each of red wine, balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Let it sit 5min and washed. Results:511 Porous Plus and Akemi Nano-Effect had no stainingAkemi Super Stain Repellent and Aquamix penetrating Sealer both had slight stainingStoneTeck Bulletproof and Stonetech Sealer had significant staining.A few days later did it again on the same stones to see if double coating made a difference: NOPEBut since longer stain time could stain in even the best, I did another test: double coat 511 Porous Plus separated by 15min followed by a coat of 511 Mira Matte while it was still uncured (VERY important apparantly). Success! And now it resists ground-in dirt too.

Incredible Sealer!
Easy to apply and works great. Our factory sealed granite was a joke. Water spilled would immediately soak into the granite and leave a grey mark. No more! a couple of hours after applying, our granite is properly sealed! no more grey water marks; the water just beads off. The smell is very strong so be sure to have proper ventilation
