Not a network engineer but I had the need to make a few custom length cables after running some Cat6 cable in my wall for my new fiber connection. But I didn't want to invest in an expensive crimping tool when I wasn't going to use it probably ever again. that's when I spotted these. They're cheap, easy to use and work great. Only slight gotcha is that it is hard to separate the inner core from the outer plastic housing when you take them out of the package. A small jewler's screwdriver on the hook on the underside and they popped right apart. Just be careful to not lose the inside piece when you do! They always fall out on me. If you need a tutorial, there's even a QR code on the back of the connector you can scan to get a YouTube video showing you how to assemble them.

These are a poor execution of a good idea. If you read this and still want to buy them, at least you were warned. In order to use these, they must be dis-assembled. I could not disassemble the ones I was sent without using an expensive, very thin bladed, made in Germany, screwdriver blade I already owned. Perhaps your hands are very much stronger than mine, but these will not come apart for use without applying notable force to a clear plastic tang that is snugly nestled in a colored plastic aperture. Amazon should be ashamed* of letting them make this claim. I would return them for refund, but I am mobility impaired and it is just too much trouble to do that. I own the needed tool, so I can use them. I just feel victimized by yet another Sino-Amazonian hustle. At least I could laugh at the fact that they supply two different tools, neither of much use, with these "tool free" RJ-45 terminators. In all seriousness, some other tools will also be needed, such as so-called needle nose pliers with flat jaws (to take the curl out of the formerly twisted insulated wires, cutting tools of two kinds: one to cut the entire 8 conductor cable, and another to cut each individual conductor after it has been fitted into its slot in the tray. *What a good mood I must be in to imagine Amazon being capable of shame, what?

Took a while to crimp it since it's my first time using shielded cat 6a. But overall better than others I've used.
