Dimensions Mini Needlepoint: Zinnias, Polyester blend, Multicoloured, 13 x 13 x 0.2 cm

I am an experienced embroidered and have done many many needlepoint kits in my life. This was the first time I used stranded embroidery cotton for a needlepoint. It is difficult to work with because it is slippery compared to wool. For this reason I think a beginner would find it frustrating. Quality was good. Almost ran out of one or two colours but overall very happy. The finished product looks great. I made this because the sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine and I wanted to stand in solidarity with all Ukrainians.

I just have a few stitches left to do to finish this picture. The colours of the thread supplied are bright and vibrant and nice to use. Good quality, and I am very happy with the result. Being fairly small one sees a fairly quick result. Very transportable to our WI craft group meetings!

I’ve not completed but this is a nice kit, this is a printed canvas and not counted. I have only sewn in wool so this silky thread was a test for me. I wanted small and this is very small. I disagree with the instruction to separate all the strands of the thread and put back together, I didn’t like how it looked so am just using as they were provided. Otherwise the instructions are lovely and clear so makes it easy to see what to use where. The threads are well organised on a card sorter which is nice too. They even show how many thread strands to use in the different areas. I feel this will look better and better as I fill the canvas. Good for a beginner because of how clear it is.

Although small,I have to say that this is the most comprehensive tapestry kit I have ever ordered (I have become addicted to tapestry!) The instructions were brilliant - ensuring that the pattern and colours match up with a sheet of paper that says what colours go where. The kit is from America, and perhaps other manufacturers could look at the instructions they provide as I have often been confused by yellow on the canvas but only white thread available.

What a brilliant little kit. I am a keen cross stitcher and have bought many kits. This has the threads sorted and organised brilliantly and a lovely clear canvas .

Beautiful colours and definite tapestry drawing easy to work on just right as not to big or small to do the needlework

Previously did the Hummingbird Drama and love the finer gauge of these tapestries as you get so much detail. This one is very tricky as other reviewers have said the colours are barely visible on the canvas and you need good eyesight and natural light to do this. If you fancy a challenge it does come out nicely. All of these tapestries show outlining in white thread which I don’t find necessary, so I leave it out. The iridescent thread is a lovely touch but yes, it’s hard to work with. I would have given this more stars but..... There wasn’t enough thread in two colours and I NEVER run out! I had to make do with a different colour for one bit but as one of the colours was on the wings I had to cobble a length of thread from two other shades. Luckily it doesn’t look too obvious. I will definitely do another of these but if you want to try tapestry for the first time, try an Anchor with 10 stitches to the inch.
