We bought this for a mini auxiliary coop we use whenever we’re growing out pullets to a size appropriate for mixing into our pre-existing Chicken flocks. Some of our laying hens are more tolerant than others…Wyandottes can be Malinois-mean! Having a couple months of separate-but adjacent living is nice while the new girls get big enough to join the others, but there are no electrical capabilities in that structure. Hanging a solar-powered light inside the chicken coop was a handy solution (one that didn’t rely on risky strands of extension cords, either)! This unit has only a wee solar panel, but it is incredibly efficient, and the amount of light produced is excellent for both “putting the birds to bed” at night, as well as illumination for in-coop chores after dark, etc. I do think I should have thought more about the implications of motion-sensitive light, though. There is a serviceable light level that just comes on when it gets dark out, but movement prompts a jump in the brightness of the light you’re given. Chickens move around quite a bit before they’re ready to hop up on a perch and roost for the evening, so there is a crazy roller-coaster-wattage-effect going on that I can see from the coop window a half mile away. It doesn’t appear to bother my birds, therefore it doesn’t bother me, but that situation might not appeal to everyone, depending upon where they’re going to use this lamp set-up. They do include a remote in this kit, but that ended up being an incidental feature for my particular needs, so I couldn’t really tell you much about it…LOVE this thing, though!!

This solar light is amazing! It is so bright yet gentle enough to shine onto a house. The white color is beautiful. It worked day 1 but I set it in the sun anyways to charge it. It comes with 2 stakes for installation of the solar panel and flood light itself. The cord is long enough to hang the flood light if you wish and charge the solar panel. If not all you have to do is unlatch them from each other and charge. There is an on off button and it does not have to be turned on daily as you can leave the button on and the light will auto shut on and off. This light has been in the rain with no issues. It works better than smaller ones I paid almost as much for. You can also rotate the light horizontally or vertically depending on your preference. I highly recommended this light, you won’t be disappointed!

Good light for our parking area at our cottage. Very bright when it comes on. However it doesn’t stay on all night even after a full days charge from the sun. Lasts about 4 to 5 hours.

I use it in my entry way with the panel in a nearby window so I can't speak to its external durability but as for function, it's absolutely brilliant. My wife has used small incandescent auto nightlights forever and I still manage to stub a toe, but with this in the entryway I can dimly see the entire room without causing excess glare and best of all it can be set to auto and I don't worry about the rising electric bills or kicking something in the dark, I'm honestly going to get more. Set and forget! **critically** the window I put the solar panel in gets almost a full day's worth of direct bright sun, sun power is crucial for solar panels!!!

Easy to install and pretty straightforward functionality, however I was expecting more light coming from it. It’s not very bright like some comments found here.I am using it inside my shed and even though illuminates enough for you to see where you are going and what you have in the surrounding area, it doesn’t have enough illumination for you to work inside unless it’s right above your working area or if you have several of this installed.

This is a little bit smaller light than I expected (and then I wanted), but it does work well so not noticing the size is my fault. It charges up quickly and seems to hold a charge so you can use the light for quite some time. The remote works really well, too.

I bought this because I bought one last year and loved it. However the one I received will not work. I had it in the sun for 3 days connected the cable turned it on, hung it and it does not work. It won’t work! Like I said the one I have from last year is still working.By the time I return it and pay the shipping I’m out $$$$. Plus I threw the box out figuring this is a great product.Beware they might work they might not.Its a gamble if you purchase.
