Versatile and strong
Took these to the Tatra mountains during this summer and they were fantastic. They pack away in carry on luggage, easy to set up and put away. They handles are comfortable and great for dealing with sweaty hands and they can take some real punishment

Definitely lightweight but there's no way they're carbon fiber.
It took me an age to try and figure out how to erect them as there are no instruction within the actual package. The only way to figure it out was to go back to this listing.Once in use, they're very light but still provide me with enough support on my walks.

Poor Quality.
Slot in poles fit is so bad that they drop out when lifted. Plastic inserts aren't fixed properly inside upper tube so dislodge with minimal pressure. Clamp mechanism for pull out extension is very poor.

Outstanding Quality Trekking Poles - They Take A Load Off My Knees!
The media could not be loaded. This is my first pair of Trekking Poles I’ve purchased, as I do a lot of hiking and hear these can help take the load of your legs and particularly knees. I’ve used them for a quick 3 mile walk up my local Hill this evening and I can already feel the positive difference! They take a little bit of getting use to if you’ve not used walking sticks before, but I soon got into the swing of things. They’re easily adjustable to your desired height and you can even change the lengths of the hand-straps. Honestly, they are Outstanding Quality and for the price of just £49.99 for the two, I feel they represent Great Value for Money - Particularly as they’re made of a combination of carbon and aeronautical grade 7075 aluminium, which means they’re very Lightweight, Strong, Flexible & Sturdy! They also fold down Compactly and even come with a Storage Bag. Trust me, you will not be disappointed in them and overall, I can’t fault them! Thank you.

Light & Easy to Use
My first impressions of the trekking poles were that they are compact, light and well made, each pole is collapsed into three sections and bound with a Velcro tie, the sections are held together using a central cord, included in this kit you get 2 identical poles, 4 pairs of spare feet to suit certain terrains, storage bag and instructions. If you are new to trekking poles then you should take your time to firstly read the instructions, also maybe watch the video on the amazon product page for further assembly details, these can confuse in setting them up so that the spring pin positions itself correctly under tension. The poles once fully assembled feel sturdy and comfortable to use, they are light and offer a good height ranging from 1150mm to 1350mm, the wrist strap is adjustable and the feet are easily swapped to suit the correct terrain, I like the colour scheme and the design.Overall, a nice set of trekking poles that are lightweight and well made, they are compact enough to stow away on your backpack to use as required, the black section of the poles must extend out far enough for the spring pin to lock against the shoulder before use, happy to recommend, thank you.

Innovative combination of carbon fibre and aluminum!
I'm an experienced fell walker and long-distance hiker based in the Lakes, so have long experience of hiking poles. With respect, most of the other reviewers seem to have missed the idea behind this design. On any decent pole, the shafts will be made of 7075 aircraft grade aluminium or carbon fibre. Aluminium is tough but relatively heavy, while the carbon is significantly lighter but also significantly more likely to fail without warning. Breakage can cause a nasty fall, and whatever the manufacturers claim it's a real risk for anyone walking on rough ground. The 7075 is a standardised product, so inexpensive pole sections will be just as robust as the premium brands. But laying up the carbon is highly skilled, and I always advise people to avoid budget carbon poles. What Tomshoo has done here is make the thickest, heaviest top sections out of carbon, and the thinner, more vulnerable bottom sections out of aluminium. Provided the carbon is properly manufactured this should offer the best of both worlds - a lighter pole without sacrificing durability. I haven't seen this before, and it's an interesting idea. The rest of the pole is pretty standard for the budget end of the market. There's a comfortable foam handle, good quality padded straps, the usual plastic lever-lock with thumbscrew tension adjustment, summer and winter baskets, and tips for hiking and Nordic walking. These poles use the rapid lock design where they clip together with a single pull. This offers shorter pole sections for more convenient carrying, and very rapid deployment. I've come to prefer it over older designs.Provided the carbon shafts prove reliable, this is a lot of pole for the price. It's light, relatively robust and easy to carry. Recommended.
