Q: Hello, what size DC motor would replace my 1/2hp AC motor that this control will work with?

This hp resistor is made for KB speed control. It is made for 1/8 hp or 1/6 hp motor if you go to KB electronics website you can look up the correct hp resistor. This resistor is only made to work with KB speedcontrols. If you are trying to replace Your motor using this hp resistor you will need a KB speed controller and 1/8 to 1/6 hp motor. But if don't have a the speedcontroller you can just buy a 1/2hp motor DC. When using the kb speed controller you will need to see what other items you need like fuse kit etc. Which will be listed with the speed control you choose.
