I now have 2 of these solar electric fence energizer 's They work really well and keep charge for a long time

Works a treat and lasts OK. One problem is the switch. It fails and there is no pulse. Red LED comes on when switched off. You have to jiggle it, turn it on and off rapidly for a few seconds. Or hold it firmly and slowly move it. Better still change the switch for a better one. Other than that it works fine. Just has a poor on/off switch.

Waste of money. Used it to keep my cat in the garden. Does exactly nothing. Even when I touch it the voltage or what is called is very low. You feel almost nothing. Even after I charged it.

My unit lasted 2 years before it stopped sending the charge through. I find this great value for money compared to buying a new battery every few months. It's lightweight and easy and convenient to charge and move around the field. Carried the charge easily around 400m of tape. Towards the end of it's life it was having trouble charging reliably. I'm buying a replacement today and I've recommended this product to my neighbouring horse owner who purchased and also loves it.

After months of my ponies not going near the fencing one day the decided to break through and open 4 bales of haylage I had there for winter, there is no electric at the yard so was looking for a solar panel option. I couldn't believe how small this unit was, really easy to mount on a fence post connect up and packs a punch. The not so smart one has had a couple of kicks off it, the other 2 can sense when its on, 2 weeks later and works a treat.

Great service. This is the second one of these I have bought. Exceeded my expectations and does the job very well with a high output. Shame battery only lasts 3/4 years but that's reflected in the price.

This works very well in the UK summertime provided that it is angled at the sun. My criticism would be that the plastic over the solar panel is not very tough / durable and deer managed to chew it and it easily became ingrained with mud that hampered the performance. It needs monitoring as it sometimes goes off for no reason, but having said this I found it as reliable as battery energisers and not as finnikity. Another criticism would be that the wires are quite thin that supply it and can be easily yanked out by bolshy ponies.

I read mixed reviews about this and was a little apprehensive as the unit seems a decent price. However it’s been on my fence for a few weeks now and does the job well. It charges even on an overcast day and has (so far) stood up to Scottish weather. Ponies now respect the fence which is what it was purchased for. Was easy to install too.
