Not a Vegetarian But Good Recipes All the Same
Some are great recipes and some I would never serve, but I don't do sweet things and that is the reason. Who would have thought there were so many recipes for vegetables under 400 calories. One good feature to any of these books in the series is that some recipes offer additives to the menu. Yes, your calorie count goes up but there are at least ideas to make it a well-rounded meal. Even though I'm not a vegetarian some nights all we have is a meatless dish. This book also offers that side dish that you may need for one of the main dishes. This book will keep you within your diet guidelines.

Good Housekeeping Does It Again
This is very good book on lower calorie recipes in a spiral bound binding that allows the pages to lay flat, a perfect feature for a recipe/cookbook. The variety of recipes is very nice and shows not just the calorie count, but nutritionals, as well. The recipes are easy to follow, with many good pictures throughout. Recipes make use of a wide variety of ingredients, making use of grains, vegetables and protein. For current vegetarians or those who just want to add more healthy meals, this is a book I recommend.

Okay book for me
Im a vegetarian .Im not a chef but do know how to cook and create meals.This book didnt really inspire me...I cant say I hate it but I havent really touched it more than a few times.Nothing exciting to me.

new vegetarian
i bought this cookbook for my 13 yr old granddaughter.since i have subscribed to goodhousekeeping for over 40 yrs , i had confidence in the content.i was not disappointed. the recipes are easy and the photography is appealing she is looking forward to trying new recipes.

Great Low Calorie Cookbook
I follow weight watchers and my daughter is a vegetarian. Both of us can find recipes in here that are easy and delicious!

400 Calorie Vegetarian recipes
This book is full of great ideas for 400 calorie meals - when you're counting calories. The book is beautifully illustrated, and is easy to follow.

Useful but limited
This is a useful book for someone counting the calories, however, there arent many full meals in here, you also have to add the chips, the mash, the roasted veg, whatever accompaniment you need with the 400 calorie food item. So slightly limited. However, its nicely presented and easy to use the index

The information is good and clear, each recipe giving the calories, fat etc. The recipes good but not terribly new.

OK, but not wonderful
As a busy Mum with a vegetarian family, I'm always looking for new recipes to inspire me. And I like books which include calorie counts, as I'm also on a more or less permanent weight loss diet! This book met those needs, but the problem is that it's clearly aimed at an American market, and American tastes in food. Nothing wrong with that, but what if you can't find the ingredients?I like the fact that it's spiral bound, and easy to keep on hand whilst cooking. I'm keeping it and will refer to it from time to time, but it's not my favourite, just OK.
