Comfort on the Road.
Great product. I finally got to use this refrigerator chest, which did not disappoint. We went on a week-long road trip to Utah and figured we needed to bring our food, so we could occasionally have tailgate picnics without having to stop and purchase lunch. Keep in mind, I do not understand anything about electrical power output/inputs, etc. I wasn't too sure about using the DC outlet on the vehicle because I was concerned about draining the vehicle battery, even though it is supposed to be fine when your vehicle is running. Instead, I had a portable power bank, a Jackery 1000 Plus, that I plugged this unit into. With over 12 hours of plugging into the battery, at 40F, it only drew 30% of the power. This allows me to keep drinks cold and food fresh. I would charge my battery in the hotel every night since we also use the battery for electrical kettles and an air fryer. If you leave the chest alone overnight in weather that goes from 70°F to 37°F by morning, the chest rises to about 50°F. Your food should still be fine once you plug it back in. Unless you're a harsh food safety critic. On the way home, I plugged it in through the car while driving, and it also worked out great. Is like the fridge never missed a beat. Weight-wise, it is no difference in carrying an ice chest full of ice with miscellaneous items. I got a 28 qt and it worked great for family of 3 and some.

So far it’s a Star!
First the upside:The fridge is super super quiet! Sometimes I have to put my hand on it or take a peek at the temp gauge to see if it’s running! It has a latch that actually catches and holds the lid in place.I am able to fit enough food for a single person for about 4 days (less if I added jars and bottles of condiments)It runs all day (off and on) and seems to manage a + or - temp within 3 degrees of what it’s set for. Full or empty will affect the temp as will longer periods of not opening it, outside air temp, etcThe handles on the side are molded into the cooler body so it’s real easy to move when needed and it won’t take up a ton of space when put away. Now the down side:It’s pretty small inside, more so because the lid protrudes down inside by 1/4” and can make it a trick to pack and then close. Now I chose this size so it’s my fault I got a small one, that said a small plastic bottle of milk is too tall, a bottle of BBQ sauce, coffee creamer (small bottle) and so on will stand up inside but then the lid won’t close, so bottles need to be laid down.It generates heat from vents around the compressor on 3 sides… cover one and the unit will overheat. This affects the places you might think this little guy will fit. You have to make sure there is constant airflow around the compressor end of the fridge at all times. In early fall in northern Az I found that inside my van the temp rose considerably and I had to open windows and vents and turn on fans to vent the heat. I now know enough to leave the roof vents open. I’m concerned about next summer.Because this is like the idiots guide to 12v fridges I had to get used to the fact that this comes with no Bluetooth or power settings etc. this is as basic as it gets!! Plug in power up and pick a temp…. The fridge does the rest.Since the fridge has no power settings it just runs to achieve the internal temperature you set, then shuts off- And when it feels like it needs to run again it clicks back on. The idea here is that currently I have it plugged into a battery bank with only 150ah (amp hours) and if I dont recharge back to a 100% charge each day the unit will draw the battery down considerably. After 48hrs with no charge up- this fridge will take the batteries to 60%. This is all based on several factors- the temp I set, how much food is inside, the temp inside the van, and so on. Also currently I only have 200 watts of solar so it seems like charging is all I do, 40% use of power can take 5-6 hours to recharge because I’m charging as the appliance is plugged in- it slows the recharge process. Its not terrible but it is worth keeping an eye on. I’ve since buying the fridge added 300watts more of solar panel and doubled the batteries capacity. No internal light, no baskets, no drain plug.Overall I am thrilled with my new fridge. Its positives outweigh the negatives. I purchased the 16qt version so yeah it’s small but then for the last 16-18months I had no fridge at all….I should point out that this is a top load fridge so the cold settles at the bottom. That means veggies that are touching the sides or bottom of the fridge will freeze at fridge temperature. Just be careful how you pack things in and you’ll be fine.I got mine on a great sale and picked it up for just over a $100. I added the 3 year warranty because things break. I highly recommend the protection.I will try to remember to do a follow up at one year.Happy shopping to all!!

Too big? 16 Qt and 10 Qt size reveiw
I couldn’t decide between the 16 and 10 Q models so ordered them both since they were priced about the same. The 16 Q is surprisingly light which is good because once it is full it will be even heavier. It has handles on both sides which makes it easy to lug around. I also really like the 4 spots to attach straps. I will use them to anchor it in the car. I plan to use the cooler to freeze ice packs to keep a separate larger cooler cold so I don’t have to buy ice. I thought the extra freezer space of the 16 Q would give me room for ice packs and food. The drawback for me is that it is too large to fit on the floor in the front seat. I can’t shut the door. So it would have to go in the back which I don’t want. I have a van so the space is large. If you had a car it would have to go on the back seat or the trunk. They both work exactly the same so it is just a mater of how much space you want/need for cold items and where you want to put it. I have the same issues others have talked about regarding the size being just a bit to small for 2 cans width wise. No matter how you pack it you end up with too much space for air which will make it work harder to cool. The size of the ice packs in the picture are 6X3.5X1.It looks like a nice enough cooler just to big for my needs.

A compressor fridge is worth it! And this was a great price!
This works well, it uses about 30-40watts on my 12.5v outlet on my Delta 2 max. when running, and ran for 3 days straight. It only needs 1/4 of the energy that the Peltier cooler I got from Aldi's uses.I love that I can run it as a fridge or a freezer! it's great to be able to empty the stuff out of my deep freezer into this and let it thaw out. Going to use it next month to go on vacation!

Does what it claims
I used the freezer temperature. It functioned very well. I had to leave it in my van overnight which turned the power off, and everything was still frozen solid in the morning. I highly recommend this cooler.

Arrived with a Horrible Odor
This cooler arrived with a horrible smell, like a rat infestation. I'm still trying to get it out. We have the cooler sitting in beach water right now. Wish I had kept the box. Would be returning it now.Other than the smell, the unit does seem to work and is very quiet.
