Perfect wardrobe for temporary or permanent use
This item is perfect; it goes, and stays, together nicely and looks great, especially for what it is: a dressed up metal rack!Having just moved into a *temporary* room with no closet, I needed a place to store all my clothes... and again, having just gone through the pain of moving, the last thing I wanted to do was buy a huge dresser or armoire/wardrobe that I'd have to move later. This is perfect: it looks like an actual piece of furniture, and when the time comes to move it, it can simply be taken apart.Assembly was absolutely no problem... AFTER you figure out what the function of the retainers is. As for the provided instructions - the words are hard to follow, so I ignored them.Put it together with the general guidance of the diagram, and these important pieces of information:-The 2-piece retainer snaps onto the bar (and will stay on). do this first.-Once on the bar, slide them up or down until they sit in a groove on the bar.-The shelf rests on that retainer.Basically: attach one set of retainers for a shelf, slide the shelf on; repeat. Also note that while the shelves can technically sit anywhere on the bar, you'll probably want the 2 in the middle to be hidden behind the lower strap of the front cover. That is, if you want it to look like the picture.Because the manufacturer has some presence here, these are my thoughts on design/quality:-The lower strap needs a wider piece of velcro so it can be tighten fully-the top bars do not wedge into the lower bars at all -- if i lifted the top half, i could pull it off the lower half.-The handles could use some plastic inside; all but 1 came wrinkled.-An extra pair of drawer inserts would be perfect for middle shelf-the way the hanger bars "attach" to the top shelf is horrible -- admittedly i didn't read the instructions, so it very well might say to clamp the ends onto the the frame, which would work.

Nice and sturdy, great value for the price. NOT hard to assemble!!!
I bought this to hold about 50 gowns & suits in garment bags because I moved to a new apartment with less built-in closet space and needed a tall closet to hold my floor-length items. This wardrobe is surprisingly strong; the metal frame is doing just fine even though I've got it crammed pretty full with heavy items and I even store stuff on top of it.I noticed a lot of other reviews mentioned that this was hard to put together. Perhaps something has changed about the instructions lately, but I personally can barely assemble ikea furniture and this thing took me less than a half hour to put together all by myself. It doesn't even have any nails or screws, everything is snap-on. The instructions even come with bonus humor as they were clearly translated from another language ("Please do not allow spouse to hang from closet"...umm thanks for the advice!) Anyway, maybe the language thing was the problem for everybody else but it was still easy enough to follow, and if nothing else, the pictures in the instructions were super self-explanatory. Really, I'm horrible at putting things together and this was about the easiest piece of furniture I've ever assembled. So don't let the assembly aspect freak you out, it wasn't difficult at all! Some things you can't see in the picture: The drawers at the bottom aren't quite tall enough to fill the space that's meant for them. So there is about a 3" gap above them which my cat loves to crawl in through and sit inside the drawers (so I can't put any nice/dark items in the drawers!) But luckily there's a shelf above the drawers that keeps her from actually crawling up into the closet part where the gowns are, and the actual closet doors have strong magnets on them so they have no problem staying shut. The product also comes folded up so there are some dents on the front of the door that won't go away, and it originally had a gross odor that I think came from the packaging; it stunk up the room for a week or two but the smell has since gone away (I've had it about 1.5 months now). Overall it's not the most beautiful thing in the world but it's strong and sturdy--much more so than I expected it to be--and considering how low the price is, it's definitely a worthy purchase as long as you don't care TOO much about aesthetics.

Honey-Can-Don't Buy this piece of crap
Where to begin.Well this product managed to hurt my pride by being one of the damnedest things to assemble. When I finally got it put together I realized that I had to take it apart and do it again because I mounted the drawers too high and now they were covered by the doors (not in the instructions). It is of VERY VERY VERY cheap material. The inserts that make this thing "heavy duty" are a type of foam and the whole time I'm trying to get the canvas over the rack I can hear "crack, crack, crack" from the foam pads breaking. The canvas has these little tie things that are supposed to be used to tie the metal structure. Well they must have been held on with spit and bubble gum because half of them would just pop right off as you tied them.Oh and the doors won't stay closed on it either. I had to buy velcro to put in the corners to keep the doors shut.I give it one star because it does have alot of storage room.
