Great bargain melodica
Love this little mouth keyboard, melodica! It's a good quality instrument. But be warned...it is LOUD! The tone is pleasant and I think it will be great fun playing on it. Mind you I'm no musician and I only sing and play essential guitar. I felt this was an easy option instead of the keyboard that I use online and I was right. For 16 dollars you can't go wrong...I'm pleasantly surprised and I highly recommend it.

Things to know
This is fun. It sounds good. It is a great value. But there are some things to know:- The tubing is about 40% thinner than my Horner brand original melodica- There are kids stamps as labels on the C's making this look like a Toy- Because of this is is mostly suited for use as a toy - I got it for my grandson to play with me- The case is nice, especially considering the low cost- Tt is well tuned so that the notes are the 440 pitch tuning- I would buy another, but also not assume it is a performance instrument

A fun and different instrument
This melodica comes with:- The melodica- A mini cloth to wipe down mouth pieces- Two different mouth pieces- A hose- A carrying bagIt is made of all plastic and looks like a toy, but I think it has a lot of actual musical potential for even grown ups. This definitely has a lot of teaching elements built into the design though that would make this a good starting instrument to learn about music. There's a little graphic on the C key to help note the start of the C major scale. The C major scale notes are also indicated with the Do Re Mi's. The notes also have the note within the scale indicated as intervals 1-7, and the actual note names and octave (e.g. c2, d2....c3,d3,e3...). It starts on f0 and ends on c3, I don't think the octave numbers would correlate to an actual piano. As the name on the instrument itself would suggest "MELODION", this sounds a lot like an accordion, which is awesome because I have no idea how to play an actual accordion and am only slightly able to play piano. I know it's all plastic, but the sound is good, usable, and fun.I've never played a melodica before, so I wasn't sure to expect in terms of sound or how to operate it in general. To make sound you blow into the mouth piece, but nothing happens. In fact, it is the same sensation of blowing into a straw but having the end covered. No air is moving and you feel the air pressure feedback against you. Then pressing on a key allows the air to flow and make sound. You have to provide a little bit of blowing force to produce a sound too. Too light and you won't hear a note, especially on lower notes. Highly notes are easier to produce sound and don't require as much blowing force. It can easily be very loud too. There's a few different options on playing it too. Two different mouth pieces and an optional extendable hose can be used. Using the mouth piece attached to the hose is probably the most comfortable. However, you can use it without the hose too and play it like a trumpet. There's a handle on the back to help hold it with one hand, and hook up the mouth piece directly to the instrument. I've seen a few videos online where people hook up balloons to the hose or other wind producing devices to circumvent the need constantly blow into it to produce sound.Build quality is good, I think this could probably take years of surviving a kid's playroom and still be just as good as it was on day one (at least functionally). It is a fun instrument that requires no batteries or power source to operate that is built well and is great for kids and grown ups alike.

Fun little musical instrument for anyone that likes to experiment with music
I ordered this melodica air piano for my nineteen year old son who has several musical instruments and likes to play around with them. He was quite enthusiastic about the instrument. The first noises he made were quite jarring, and my dog started howling along. It was very funny since my pup had never howled before. Now if we want my pup to "sing" all we have to do is break out the melodica. My son tends to randomly play around with his musical instruments in the wee hours of the morning, and I can always tell when he is playing with this melodica. Some of the sounds are even coherent now.In any case this melodica is a pretty nice instrument for anyone that likes to experiment with music. It can definitely make some distinctive noises, and with practice, music. It is very affordable for any type of musical instrument and it is fun to play around with. It even includes a nice case for storage.
