Book could have been cut in half and still covered the same information.
Title says "implementing targeted interventions" so I thought it would contain lots of information about sample interventions that could be used in Tier Two. Unfortunately it doesn't. This book is all about how to set up a Tier Two program. Not really what I needed. The book really could have been cut in half and still covered the same material. It kept repeating the same information. Honestly, I would return it but I already marked in the book. It might help someone, just don't expect any sample interventions to use in your Tier Two program.

Competent, but content not detailed in front table, graphically advanced
ISBN 1506384528 (The PBIS Tier Two Handbook: A Practical Approach to Implementing Targeted Interventions, 1st ed.) is intended to show to educators and seeking solutions policy makers how to select individualized and evidence-based interventions for struggling students to accommodate cultural differences that can overwhelm even the most experienced teachers, before considering special education. It is expensive considering that more than twice as voluminous Strategies From A to W for Multi-Tier Systems of Support is only slightly more expensive, but - obviously - what counts is the quality of content here higher. The content on its 170+XXII pages is clearly divided into 3 parts subdivided into 7 chapters, plus "Index". Each chapter represents a topic subdivided into sub-chapters, but not numbered and thus not very convenient to locate. Especially inconvenient is not creating sub-chapters of the numbered Markers and not listing them in the contents table up front the book in Chapter 3, which is 70 pages long. The core of this thin book are intervention types, which contain analysis and solutions of particular strategy. Each type is condensed/summarized in boxed list, table, or a template. After the initial reading, the book can be used for studying just particular techniques, just of specific topic, but not so easy to find, or warming up.The book is in black and white, 2 shades of gray. Its layout is modern, clear, and graphically advanced to emphasize most frequently sought info. The titles of items and sub-chapters are in a larger typeface boldfaced, while those inside are smaller, but capitalized. Summaries, cautions, notes, and important point are emphasized by a light gray background forming boxes. Thus, grasping the pages at 1st glance is easy. Approx. 38 pages of the book are shown by the "LOOK INSIDE!" function. What cannot be seen is that the book is well printed on good paper, though the flimsy soft cover, typical for the series, is prone to creasing and catching fingerprints.
