Good choice
Better than my last one. Shuts off automatically when air is out of bag.

Works well
I just bought a ninja combi and wanted to test out the sous vide function I also love a nice piece of beef but 15 bucks a pound just isn't in the budget. This unit has the current usb C port for charging and comes with a short A to C cable but any C cable will work. The bags have a round disk that you place this over on a flat surface. You have to use a little downward pressure to get it to suck the air out of the bag when you hit the power button on top. It stops automatically. My first test was a cheap chuck roast at 135 degrees for 24 hours. We shall see, I've had friends tell me how wonderful sous vide is if it can really make a cheap cut of beef taste like an expensive one I'm all for that stuff for sure. My only small complaint is with the way you seal the bags it uses this little plastic bit that I know my counter will swallow instantly. The sealer should be larger and have an eyelet on it so you can hang it someplace to avoid losing it. For now i put it in the cloth bag with the vacuum unit. I hope the seller sells that sealing tool as I'm sure I'll need another one, you get a good number of bags but may want more of those too in the future. I tried using my fingers to seal the bag its tough the tool does a better job. I only used this a few times can't speak on battery life but it also charges up pretty quick. After reading a few reviews it sounds like this unit works best with the style of bags that it came with, don't seem to have much luck finding those at least on amazon, they need to either sell the bags that work with their unit separately or provide the link to where they can be purchased. I did find one product on amazon that looks like the same bag in photos may try those out so far these bags seem to hold the seal well and not leak.It appears you get something like six to ten uses from a bag before the seal fails and you can no longer suck the air out properly. Several bags come in the kit just now one of my two largest must be replaced. I'm happy to say they took the suggestion to sell the bags for their vacuum unit separately, the large five quart bags are currently about two dollars each which isn't bad if they last ten uses. update: had this about 7 months now, unless it's my imagination this thing seems to be getting steadily harder to make it seal where it sucks the air out of the bag. Make sure to press on the zipper closure with your fingers and press down on the round seal to be sure all that is where it should be before you apply the vacuum device. Your results may vary but I seem to have the best luck getting it to seal when I place the seal on the flat counter and move the device around a bit till it finally sounds like it's sucking air out. I'm looking for a less persnickity sealing device you can't tell when the battery is too low all you find out is it just stops and that tells you it's time to charge it again. I saw another brand similar to this one that should work with the same bags at a much higher price may give that one a try. It comes with a two year warranty supposedly.

popular with friends
bought one for me and then sent one to 2 friends. That friend ended up buying 2 for family members. just make sure the zip lock is closed snug before getting the air out. The slightest little leak with release the hold.

Compact, great customer support
I love this unit and use it to reseal my coffee beans and freeze-dried fruits etc. when traveling or for keeping items fresher in my kitchen. Works great! Had an issue with the unit almost a year into ownership. Contacted the manufacturer and they promptly sent a replacement. Would definitely buy again and recommend this product.

Works like a "charm!"
I have only used it once, but I found it works like a charmed ... I'm very pleased!! It's also just the right size to easily store ... almost anywhere!

poor suction power
I chose this product because of the price, instead of the more expensive one. its okay, but I was not satisfied with the suction power. and probably should have paid more the better one. I guess you get what you paid for. I would not recommend this product.Sidney in Lancaster, TX

Great, but fragile product
This is a great little vacuum sealer, my last one only lasted 6 months , my wife was vacuum sealing a chopped up roasted chicken and she got to much juice up into the unit and it quit working. I tried drying it out in a bag of rice, but to no avail, it just wouldn’t work again. If there was someway to take the unit apart I might be able to fix it. Like l said, it’s a good little unit, but make sure you don’t suck any liquids up into it or it will be ruined.
