A very useful tool, seller needs to make a MK2 made from Polypropylene
Despite a couple of not so good reviews I really like these cutting guides and have found them very useful. Ok they're not as robust as they need to be for constant trade use. When you're on site and got all your tools out it's not practical to constantly be putting stuff away when you're going to need it again in ten minutes time and working like this things often get trodden on and broken or bent. When these arrived I decided to get our small, round chainsaw file out and file some reliefs at the "V" points so to create a point that would let the cutting guide flex a little without cracking, reliefs are common engineering practice and if you ever got told to drill a hole at the end of a crack in plastic or metal to stop the crack travelling you'll understand what I've done here.So all in all the product has a couple of faults but I'm sure the manufacturer will soon be back with a MK2 revised version of this very handy tool, maybe made from Polypropylene or a similar tough but flexible plastic.4 out of 5 stars from me as the guides have been so handy for me so far.

Not all that.
There isn’t anything pro about these. If you have seen the real Lag Cut Pro’s online these ain’t them. Their rougher than a badgers @rs3.3d printed and time will tell how long they last.Honestly if you are thinking of getting some buy the cheaper ones. As these aren’t any better.I would return them, but i foolishly sanded off the rough edges before reading the other reviews about them breaking.

Check your insulation size, suitable for 13mm thickness. 3D printed and fragile so handle with care
This review is for "Lag Cut Pro™ - Precision Foam Pipe Lagging Tool, Lagging Cutting Tool Set for Plumbers. Perfect for 45-Degree Angles, Tee's on Copper Pipe Insulation. Sizes 15mm, 22mm, 28mm for 13mm Lagging". I received this item for free as a Vine Voice, but that does not influence my reviews which are my own honest unbiased views based on my direct experience with the product.I have been wanting one of these sets for some time, ever since seeing videos on how easy they are to use to get a professional looking result when lagging pipework. On receipt, it is noticeable that they are 3D printed, and need a little trimming. There is a weak point in the design at the base of the V cut, so I am handling these really carefully...I shouldnt really have to do that.Unfortunatley most of my insulation doesnt fit these, as I have 19mm thick insulation for lagging 22mm pipework - but this kit only supports 13mm thick insulation. I have tried it out on a few spare old smaller pieces and it does a good job. There are no instructions so you will need to research how to measure the insulation to get your cuts in the right place.Generally I think 3D printing is not a good way to manufacture items used as tools, especially when the design has such an obvious weak point. As a result I can only rate this three stars as I have little confidence that it will last well. The price at the time of review was around £18 which does seem quite high for something that has not been strongly made.

Lag Cut Pro™ - Precision Foam Pipe Lagging Tool
Many things to like, but one small flaw. This is a set of 3 templates for cutting lagging for the 3 different standard sizes of copper pipe. Simply push the lagging through the template/guide and then cut following the guide. You have the option of half-cuts allowing you to bend one piece of lagging through 90 degrees. Or full 45 degree cuts for creating mitres between two pieces. The guides are accurate. They come in a lidded, cylindrical cardboard tube which can be used for storage and the 3 guides nest like Russian dolls. This is where the small flaw is, in that there are grooves and ridges down the sides of each template so that when they next the cut-outs all line up. It's totally unnecessary and unfortunately weakens the structure slightly because the grooves take out half the thickness of the plastic. Far better if they just left them smooth because it really doesn't matter if they don't line up in storage! Still, while weakened, they appear up to the job - I just think some care will be needed in use.Overall if you like neat jobs, this is a good tool to have in your kit.
