Beginning Git and GitHub: Version Control, Project Management and Teamwork for the New Developer

The author decided to focus primarily on using the Git command line. I needed more of a focus on GitHub & the desktop client, so I was disappointed by this book's content & returned it.It seems that this focus reflects more of a purist viewpoint, in that GUIs are somehow 'less than' using the command line. I get the occasional value of being able to drop to the command line, but the world has moved on to GUI clients and so should technical authors.
