You have to assemble the entire stool. This is a good thing because, by shipping the components wrapped individually, they are better protected. The outside box arrived pretty beat up but everything inside was perfect. You will get all of the components and hardware plus one of each hardware piece as a spare. You also get the necessary hex wrench you’ll need for assembly. If you have difficulty using your hands or if you have a painful condition like arthritis, the wrenching may be too much for you. I am a lifelong mechanic and I have all sorts of power driven wrenches. I decided to assemble the stool with the provided wrench to see what that would be like. The instructions are excellent and everything you need is in the box. If you are handy you can have the thing together in less than a half hour. If not, you may want to get someone to help. If the problem is going to be the wrenching I recommend the purchase of a rechargeable battery powered nut driver or ratchet. This will make doing things like this a lot more fun and less like a burden. You will have to include sets of sockets for different fasteners but those are easy to find right here on Amazon. The use of such tools will be very liberating for you and you’ll feel like a pro. As for the final product, it’s everything I expected. The gas charged cylinder adds lots of assistance with height adjustment with a squeeze of the lever. Very pleased with the construction of the components and with the chrome plating. Thick padding on the seat is just what I need! You can adjust the tension of the back support but not the height. This is not an issue for me but it might be for someone else so I’m mentioning it. I gave the stool five stars for quality and for fulfilling my expectations.

I like this chair. I am 195 pound man in the cushion is pretty comfortable. I use this as an office chair 5 days a week. Its made pretty well. I gave 4 stars due to the issue I have with the cylinder post randomly bleeding down when I go to sit. It will raise back up and hold its position until I go to get up and try to sit down again.

Highly recommend this chair. It is very comfortable and has lots of padding on the seat. The instructions are spot on and easy to follow. It has several pictures which made it easy to put together. It came quickly and well packed.

It's very nice and sturdy. My friend likes it a lot. Nice back, it's a high stool,so it won't hurt your back .

Backrest is quite flimsy. It was fairly easy to put together but would have been nice if screws had lock tight on the screws.

It was interesting to put together a swivel chair, but I did it by carefully following the directions. It turned into a very. handsome and comfy chair...that adjusts! And rolls around. Perfect for workshop.

I use this down in my shop and it wheels around on the old and fairly uneven cement floor fine. It is easy to adjust and does what I want it to do, which is to allow me to sit down in front of my metal lathe and wheel it over to my drill press. I don't lean back onto the back often but when i do, it is nice to have. So I doubt I will ever go with just a stool. I also tend to rest my arms on the arm rests at times while waiting for the power feed to feed. They are nice to have. The ONLY thing I find a problem with it is, when I go to sit down on it, i may push it away a bit...I probably have it adjusted a tad too high. I can't see how another chair would solve this issue. While seated I can put my feet on the foot thinger ring and when I have to get off it, I can get off easily. I have had it for two years now and it is still fine. I also prefer vinyl compared to a cloth seat as so far it isn't dirty and hasn't needed any cleaning.

I needed a simple drafting chair with steels legs and a small round seat that could be raised between 22" and 30" and this chair is the closest I could find (this chair can be raised from 23" to 30" with seat cushion, close enough for my feet to still touch the ground, so good enough). I've had this chair for about a week and am having no back problems or back paiin, unlike the chair I tried before this one. I think this is because the lumbar support on this new chair tilts to fit your back, unlike the other chair which had a static back cushion and a seat that was so long that the lumbar support made no contact with my back, so offered no support. Long story short, this chair fits my body type better (5'6", 120lbs, small frame) and offers decent lumbar support, so it's pretty comfortable. Cons: it's not exactly "cheap" but not the best quality either, the plastic parts seem flimsy and the wheels aren't great, but it'll last 2-5 years until i can afford something better, which is all i can afford and all i need for now, so i'm happy with purchase.
