I use this.In watererd down spackling to textured my walls and it worked really good. As you can see in the picture....you might want ato practice though. It took some practice to get this look, but I'm pleased with it.

We painted a fake beam in our living room with metallic silver and because of the metallic element the paint was a gloss finish. I don't have a sprayer and I'm sure spraying metallic interior paint is difficult. So we used a 1" roller and brushes. After 3 coats it was clear that the roller/brush marks were not going away. The wife and I lived with this for 3 months until the day I went to throw out the paint can and noticed painting suggestions and a dot matrix stamp on the can to scan with a phone. Up came a You tube video showing how to finish the wall with this type of roller and similar sponges for the edges. Now, the beam looks incredible and it was a simple fix.

Works as advertised. Definitely cheaper than a hopper.

I am not very talented at painting. So I messed up with too much or too little paint. I won't return it because that is not Amazon's fault. I gave up, but feel I threw away almost 20.00. Bummer!

If I could give this a no stars I would. After the first side of wall the sponge come unglued from the roller. I thought it might be a fluke returned it got a replacement and the replacement done the same thing. Very poor product

I ordered this to do touchup painting because the new gallon didn’t match the old perfectly and this way I could just feather it in to make it blend.

It's a smaller roller than a regular paint roll, but absolutely did the job I was hoping for. I just had fun with it. It will depend on the amount of paint and pressure the person uses to get the results you want. I had to repaint some areas because of how much paint I added. It was used for a small project. Love it!
