Exceptional!
This version of the Holy Bible is exceptional as it brings Yiddish and Hasidic words within the text with English as well, so it is a complete reference and study in one. It is a beautiful translation for all believers to grow in knowledge of God's Word and the true Messiah, Jesus Christ. Some may say it is not "Orthodox" but by definition this translation is definitely "conforming to what is generally or traditionally accepted as right or true; established and approved".

Jesus was Jewish and spoke Hebrew and Aramaic.
It has a new testament with words in Hebrew, like I was looking for. I wanted something closer to the original language of Jesus, (yes, He was Jewish and He went to the synagogue, and knew all the scriptures) for a better understanding. If you get scare by the price, persevere in your search, sometimes the price is lower than the hundreds that sometimes is marked.

Yeshua (Messiah) and Writers Of The Brit Chadasha (New Testament) Were Jews
I read some of the comments. What is strange about an Orthodox Jew translating the Brit Chadasha? The first "Christians" (name Christian came later, the name Paul used was congregation) were Jews. Both the TNKH and Brit Chadasha were written by Jews (exception is Gospel of Luke and Book Of Acts) and Messiah Yeshua is a Jewish Rabbi and Messiah. I read just as many comments from Jews that were just as biased. A Jew translating Jewish writings really isn't surprising, considering this was written by their people. Perhaps people need to put their biases and prejudices aside so they can learn something new.

Don't Judge the Book by It's Cover
I have recently (over the last 2.5 years) become very curious and intrigued with Judaism and Hebrew. I am a Christian (for 16 years now... I met Yeshua when I was 27) and I used to think that the "Old Testament" was Jewish and the "New Testament" was Christian. But now I am realizing that the NT was written by Jews, and Yeshua and his disciples were Jewish. I am so hungry to know more about Judaism, and am thankful to the Jewish people who are truly being a light to the nations. They are helping me learn. I am also falling in love with the rich, deep meaning of the Hebrew language. I agree that the title is completely misleading and can understand why Jewish people are so offended... but this is the exact type of translation I have been looking for; the OT and NT with Hebrew and English. This is a tremendous help to me in regards to my Hebrew studies and I am thanking HaShem that I found this translation. This has made it more convenient for me to study the weekly Torah portions.Btw - I bought a Jewish Publication Society - Hebrew-English Tanakh several months ago but have found several mistakes in the English translations so I am no longer using that one as a study guide. One last thought: I know that Jews are offended by Christian missionaries but there is a growing group of Christians that are not focused on "converting" Jews. We want to learn from you. This translation is very helpful for us.

Great bible
I listen to a guy at a website teach from this bible, so was looking for his translation and found on bible gateway it was this one, he reads it all in English which helps to understand the words, but its great to have the Hebrew language too since not all words have exact translations. Sometimes I have to use along side a bible in all English, but hopefully will start to remember some of these words.

A Story of Will Power and Patience
I'm a Bible translation collector, I believe it's better to own something instead of only accessing it online, but that's beside the point. This Bible fluctuates quite often, probably due to them not mass producing them, but the price often matched. I kid you not; there was a time it ranged from maybe thirty-something dollars to the thousands. But I waited and persevered because the time came they made more copies, and the price was ok, and I bought it. It's a weird translation and paper back, but perhaps the greatest lesson of all is it taught me patience.

Amazing!
This Bible is definatly a must-have for everyone who is serious about studying the depths of God's word. "Reading the Bible like a gentile" closes up many of the treasures hidden in this book, but thanks to Phillip Goble, you don't have to learn Hebrew and move to Israel in order to understand the original Jewishness of this book. An English Bible, with keywords in translitterated Hebrew and with explanations and comments for the gentile reader is really a door opener. Renew your understanding of the Biblical text in a way that few translations are able to and get the OJB - You won't regret it!

NOT A JEWISH BIBLE
NOT an Orthodox Jewish Bible. It is yet another Jesus bible, from the Messianics (Xtians pretending to be Jews).

good
I like to collect different versions of The Bible, physical and digital. I do like this Bible but there are words that are translated once and I forget what they are so I have trouble with the text.
