Q: description says warerproof, but are they saltwater proof?

Hi there, You can use this scale in fresh or saltwater. Please know it is best practice with any product that is intended for saltwater use to rinse or wipe off after use.

Q: What is the accuracy of the scale +/_? I want to measure puppy over the growth period. :)

Mine was pretty accurate. However, You can buy the same scale three times and get different answers. I suggest weighing a dumbbell And going from there.

Q: Is this backlit? Does it have a built-in measuring tape?

No tape...and I use it during the day so I don't know about the back lighting.
