I have some of the seat cushions that are rectangles made from the same foam material. Those are pretty thin though, and I wanted a thicker cushion to see if that would help with my lower leg pain.The shape of this pillow is more of an oval donut shape and when you sit on it your bottom sort of fits into the center hole. At first, I was unsure about using it, but after a few days, it seems to fit really nice.So far, I have used it in the car, at our dining table and on some really hard metal folding chairs we have outside on the patio. I have to say, it has been giving me some relief from the leg pain.

Due to my "temporary" disability, I can't stand for long periods of time so I have to sit quite a bit. At times, my tailbone area is REAL sensitive and the pressure points hurt SO bad, so I thought I would give this a try...I DON'T KNOW WHY I WAITED SO LONG!!!! It's very comfortable for either my walker or my electric wheelchair. This is one of the best chair cushions I have purchased. Of course like most gel items, it comes compressed in a cylinder type bag. Once you remove the plastic, the gel is unleashed. It took MAYBE 3 min to fill out and I think fully decompress within 10. Once in its true shape, it is sturdy, yet soft and firm. I must admit sitting on it for several hours did relieve some typical tension in my back. I sat on it for about 5-6 hours without any problems and I felt no pressure on my lower back each time I got up. All and all, a great little cushion for those who sit all day long in front of a computer.

In terms of cost vs the value, this product has exceeded my expectations in all the ways possible! The way it’s made is very firm in terms of the memory foam, but the design allows for the needed space and cushion to remove pressure from the areas of concern while sitting! I originally ordered this because I was concerned about the health of my hemorrhoids and it has provided tremendous pain relief and support due to the required sitting caused from my job!I used to think it was my diet or something going on internally with my health, but this seat cushion showed me that I just needed something sturdy and that works well with all of my seats whether driving or sitting down!

I got this for my wife after she had a baby. She said that it's a bit too firm and she wishes she would have gotten it right after having a baby (we waited a while to purchase it). She said it helped her a lot when she sat down. She could take it anywhere, though, it's not really discreet to carry around (in case you wanted a discreet pillow.

A little history: for a long time I used a kneel chair, but it affected my knees. Then I switched to an inflated ball chair, but that affected my lower back. I play a lot of pickleball, and if something's contributing negatively to my orthopedic health, it's gone. So after all that, I am back to a regular, padded folding chair. I really like it. I've had it about two months. Structurally, it holds up really well -- keeps its shape. Well-designed.
