Will this work for a 1981 KZ440 bobber build? Need headlight, brake light, electric start.

In theory you SHOULD be able to make it work with any 12 volt system that only requires the basics (and then some.) It's tough to answer that question with 100% certainty. It's a universal kit that seems to work great with carbureted Harley's, so I'm sure older metric bikes will work with it as well. This unit provides 12V to power the ignition system (pin 6 white w/ black stripe to coil), but does not include any engine control, management or timing/advance functionality. You should be able to get it to work, but you may have to purchase a couple of additional components if you run into an issue. Will this work for a 2004 dyna fxdl?

I bought it for a boss hawss, and had to make a few adjustments. It should work fine for your 2004 Dyna so long as you know what goes where. Mine had about 20 feet of extra wiring, but this cleaned everything up nicely.
