One month review - this one is the keeper
I evaluated 3 different robots in my house, the first was Dreame X40 Ultra, the second is this one, and the third was Ecovacs X5 Pro Omni. The first thing I evaluated was navigation - the base station location in my house is kind of cornered by a large dining room table with 12 chairs around it. Navigating out of this area (or underneath it when it's time to clean that area under the table) is a pretty critical skill for my house. This is where the Dreame X40 Ultra started to piss me off. It was constantly getting confused by the table and chair legs, pausing for long periods of time and trying to determine what to do. It would often "give up" on the task and just return to base telling me mission accomplished, when it hadn't even begun to clean! In addition, cleaning the whole was very inefficient, and would take f o r e v e r. As a contrast, the Eufy S1 Pro is very efficient. It's obstacle avoidance for stationary objects is amazing. It navigates its way around, and next to almost everything, and just finds ways to continue the cleaning path without getting confused. Its cleaning path itself is very clear, and is executed fast and without any hesitations. The roller mop provides excellent coverage compared to the other 2 robots' duo rotating mops, which often leaves uncovered areas. Its edge cleaning is sufficient, though not perfect, and has improved vastly once I set the obstacle avoidance level in the app to its least sensitive setting. Its mopping is great, and feels very similar to my upright Eufy v1 Mach Ultra which is a very good mopper. The existence of an onboard dirty water tank on the robot and the fact the brush continuously self-cleans itself, is a standout feature compared to almost all other robots, and it allows the robot to return to base much less often, thus further improving the efficiency. It also means it deals with wet stains better, although if you expect it to be able to absorb meaningful amounts of spilled fluids, it's not going to happen. The reason is that unlike the upright mop, the robot separates between the dirty water tank (which is basically the dirty water continuously being extracted from the roller using a squeegee), and the vacuum, which has its own dust bin, and that one needs to stay dry. So no suction of fluids, but still better at mopping wet stains than any of the other robots out there. The vacuuming is also good, although I wouldn't say this is its stand out feature - there are probably better vacuuming robots out there, so if vacuuming is what you mostly care about - I would give other robots a second look. I don't use it with my room carpets, only an area rug in the living room, which it can handle easily. Apart from that, the only real problem I faced with this robot is that there is a specific bathroom mat we use which for some robot this robot tried to vacuum and ends up sucking it to its vacuum port, getting the robot stuck and in need of manual assistance to get untangled. I worked around it by placing a small bathroom stool to block the robot from going over this mat. I could have also placed a virtual barrier in the app that it won't cross. Final word - I had the X5 Pro Omni in my house last week and I had some high hopes, but I returned it right after the fist cleaning. Main reason: the robot got completely tangled in the fringes of my area rug to a point I had to manual untangle it multiple times. Unlike the bathroom mat, I can't really avoid this rug if I want it properly vacuumed, so it seems like a non starter for me. In summary, after having seen all 3 robots in action, I think the Eufy S1 Pro stands out big time on most features, including its mopping, cleaning efficiency, obstacle avoidance, and navigation. Its base station is also great, as it self cleans, empties dirty water, washing mops, and refill clean water - all fully automated. Its noise level is probably not its best trait, although completely manageable IMO, as it's only loud for brief periods of time when the base self-cleans (about 2-3 minutes at the end). Vacuuming at max level will probably also be quite loud, but I use the lower, standard suction setting.

Great vacuum with terrible documentation and help
Update 2: the support in the app is absurd. I message them and get a reply in the app but not email, but I cannot read it. If I click on the message to expand it I get a blank screen. Older review: I both love and hate this thing. It’s a fantastic vacuum & mop for my hard floors; they’ve never been so consistently clean. The robot also has great navigation. That being said, I still stand by my initial complaints below. In short, the documentation and support are awful and app is okay (though using it to get support is terrible). You’ll also have to do maintenance much more frequently than the documentation says. I have to clean the dirty water reservoir more than once a week to prevent it from dripping dirty water on my floor. Original review: A wonderful device that has woefully inadequate documentation and online support. I’ve had several problems that the documentation and online help fails to address. The documentation has dead links to images that are vital to understanding the text. Online support is terrible. You get messages with no clear way to respond. They ask for things like a device id (a long alpha numeric string). You can see this in the app but you cannot copy this. You have to write it down on paper (or memorize it) and then enter it into an email. Why can’t I copy and paste it?!?!! Also I have to clean the water filter every few days or the vacuum drips dirty water on my floor.

Amazingsly perfect unit for our 3 cat hardwood floor family! Litter and random cat toys NO PROBLEM!
Bought this and must be my luck but it had an error when mopping. Eufy replied within a day and sent me an entirely new unit to swap out and it's worked flawlessly! This vac is the perfect one if you have pets, we have 3 cats and cat toys are always in random places. Past robot vacs we bought would always have toys stuck in them. This one actually sees anything and goes right around it without problems. The mopping on our hardwood floors is 100% clean. The best feature is setting up multiple schedules during the day to do only certain rooms (our cat litter box room multiple times a day) and then a couple full mop schedules so we wake up to a clean floor and go to sleep with a clean floor. Overall I really would like to buy another one for upstairs (even though you can just bring the robot up and it will track multiple floors). Also, most vac/mops I have tried are always a pain to clean. Not this one. The dirty tank and water refill just pull up from the top of the base unit and easily rinse out and refill. The robot also has a magnetic top that pops right off and a simple slide off the back dirty tank (to wash the filter inside, if needed). As a bonus surpise, I tested it on one of our cats vomit on hardwood floor and it worked perfectly and didnt smear, or spread it anywhere else!

WHAT. I run my other robot mop DAILY. Sometimes more than that in a day. I still have the water from it cleaning yesterday (image 1) I ran the eufy for the first time today and this is the water?! (Image 2) what has my mop been doing? It is just as expensive as a mop but uses the spinning mop pads. I did not expect the roller pressure and cleaning the roller as it goes to make this drastic of a difference. I will see how maintaining it is and will update when I know. OTHER MOP (my last one) Shreds its own mop pads when it cleans them in the base station Has ran over pet poop more times than I can count despite that was their #1 selling point at the time It uses the entire container of water with one clean I will update if there’s any similar complaints will this S1 pro! OCT 30 Well it’s been only a few days since we got it and my dog really has it out for this thing. Unfortunately if your lights are off. Its poop recognition isn’t great understandably. It was surprisingly a lot easier to clean after the disaster than I expected and have experienced with other robots. I think either the vacuum or the mop handled the majority. Yikes. But there wasn’t really any traces besides in the wheels which are unfortunately just as hard to clean as others. It is way better at avoiding hitting things than our previous ones, and some how way better at picking up debris with the vacuum than our previous one with lower suction. It’s went over crazy amounts of crumbs and had no problem. It is EXTREMELY nice that when clean water is poured in the part it pours its dirty water, that the pump turns on. Meaning I can clean out the lines with water very easily. The parts on this vacuum come apart to clean so well that I feel I can actually properly clean it. Not like there’s Internal parts that I can’t access that will build up dirt over time. The only thing you can’t access is the clean water tank which should never get dirty anyways I will continue to update as I learn more Nov 1 This thing is still picking up dirt off our floor. We have not reached clear water like we have with my old robot yet

Absolutel game changer! Granted it’s only been in use a few days but it does an incredible job both vacuuming and washing the floor. Far more reliable than the Irobot models we have. The app is also very easy to use.

I like the S1 Pro a lot. I was a Kickstarter backer when it was just launched and I ordered a 2 pack. Afterwards I ordered 3 more- including 2 as housewarming gifts. With all 5 of these I never had any reason to contact customer support. I had to order and replace parts which were fairly expensive but quite straightforward. However, the first time I needed support, I realized that they are not there for you. I actually ordered a 6th S1 Pro for my office, but Eufy had a sale that wasn’t (yet) reflected on Amazon, so I ordered directly from Eufy. However after 5 days Fedex still did not receive the item. So I contacted client support. They got back to me the next day with a boilerplate statement including a link to Fedex and the tracking number- which I already had. Clearly they did not even read my email. So I emailed back with a screenshot showing Fedex did not receive the item yet and asked them to cancel the order so that I could order from Amazon which now was $100 less than the price I bought it at. But after several more days and an escalation to a supervisor, I was told that since the Fedex label was generated- and even though the item was not yet provided to Fedex- that they cannot refund me, nor were they willing to call up the warehouse and find out what happened to the robot I paid for. After tax this thing was over $1500. But apparently the item is in limbo- probably lost by their warehouse. They won’t refund me. They won’t cancel my order. I just have to wait indefinitely until until someone in their warehouse finds it and gives it to Fedex- if indeed it isn’t just lost. Either way, I must now sit here and wait and cannot get my money back. It’s already been 10 days since I placed my order. The shipping estimate was 3 days. The tracking still says “Label created”, but Fedex as of now still hasn’t received it. So now I’m stuck. Including this robot I have purchased 6 Eufy S1 Pros. This is the first time I needed any support and they basically shafted me. The product is nice but without reliable and competent customer support the customer is taking a huge gamble. I’m giving this a 1 star rating because Eufy basically cheated me of $1500 and now I know they cannot be relied upon to provide competent support.

so far love this vacuum mop. only minor issues. but the good so far out weighs the bad. vs the last 2 robot vacuums I had. Larestar brand, I think? first was an amazing vacuum/mop but ran through cat poop J7+ mop, I think? Replaced with a new vaccum no mopping, as promised not to run through poop...that was a lie... And would not do anything about it/for me Both vacuums had issues, yes, after extensive reviews 1 of my schedules, weekly, is vacuum only 805am Tues, wed,Thurs,Saturday,Sunday, yet it wouldn't even start that schedule for a few days after set up. once the schedule did finally start to work on it's own, it started mopping randomly on a Saturday, which it was not set up for It has run into a cord to a wireless charger, pulled it up in but never ripped the cord. 1 or both other robot vacuums I had ripped cords to shred. I was able to fully use this cord after, and the vacuum alerted me and stopped any suction or emptying. It also sucked up a string attached to a cat tunnel, I saw it, and intervened. String also unharmed. 1 day this week I saw 1 of the front brushes on the floor in another room than the robot. It had a thin string wrapped around it quite a bit. I removed and worked well since. 1 day last week, 1 of my cats pooped outside of their robot litterbox instead of having their head facing outwards - was super happy that the vacuum successfully avoided it compared to my last 2 vacuums. After my car accident, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, hurts me more than any other movement. I got my first one a year or 2 after the accident, it's something I can't live without. And someone with long hair, and my husband does too, I was worried about a review I watched about how poorly this vacuum does with long hair. Though in the review, it stayed if he waited longer, the vacuum might have pushed it to the correct spot and worked perfectly. I haven't taken all of the protective wrap off the sides of the actual vacuum. I didn't know I missed any, to be honest. But it must run into things cause the plastic wrap is getting damaged. My kitchen mat to stand on infront of the sink, apparently isn't something this robot will clean. I thought it would treat it as a carpet? I also have a memory foam bath mat outside the bathtub, and it just pushes it into a pile Also in my kitchen, there's a curve to the edge of the kitchen and the rest of the flooring in the open concept house. It would not clean the area in the start of the curve, next to the counter. Ripped the quarter round (or similar) off the floor in that spot, and now it gets cleaned. I had a black mat under my desk to protect the wood from the wheels, the robot would not register the mat at all and avoided the area. I took it out and put it under 1 of the 3 robot litterboxes, and it somehow registers it over there now - the mat under that solo litterbox previously, I used a large reusable puppy pee pad I had from when I needed it for my 17yr old cat. Last negatives I found, were that if you had to cancel a cleaning vs pause, it takes the cleaning solution and then doesn't use it - does it stay in for next time or dumps it? As it says it's cleaning the mop if I cancel the action. I have hardwood, laminent, and gym flooring in my house. I wasn't sure how it would clean the gym flooring - as sweeping doesn't work well on that texture. Even with 6 indoor cats, my house is never very hairy, pre-vacuum. Even though I'm in so much pain, I was rarely able to sweep. However, since getting this vacuum mop, my floors have never felt this good. and every day! Only cat hair is only right as we pet them and it falls down, then it gets vacuumed before I know it. I could go barefoot in here again if I wanted! My couch is also less dirty from my feet staying clean in here from the floors, that little PC's of dirt no longer go on the couch. My friend was looking at buying a vaccum, then got very interested in a robot vacuum instead when I told him about my last experiences with them, and my current one - he was floored (no pun intended) that it could go over all the types of thresholds in my house, he sent pics and asked if it would do his - yes, 100% I like that it needs less room around the base of the charger compared to my smaller, cheaper ones (still not cheap $ though lol) I do wish it alerted me to fill the water container before it is needed in the middle of a clean. The app would know how much water a mopping takes here, and could tell you earlier than oops right now I'm out of water while half of your house is mopped and you're not home. I would also love to be able to add a feature to the app. Sometimes there are objects in the way, so they have to skip them, even when the robot comes back to try - perfectly fair. Sometimes it's my cats watching it and they don't move. So the area doesn't get cleaned. So after it's finished, I look what areas were missed (cause of cats) and what if anything,do I need to move so it can vacuum a certain area. That's where the zones come in handy in the app. But once I go to zones, I can no longer see the areas missed. So I have to guess the areas, and sometimes after the vacuuming is done for the areas, after already doing the whole floor, for it to go back to. But if the previous map stayed up during, I could ensure all areas get finished

I am absolutely thrilled with my Eufy S1 Pro! What impressed me the most was their incredible automatic response system built right into the app. On April 9, when I encountered an issue (E76 error where the vacuum wouldn’t return to the base), I immediately received a detailed automated email with clear troubleshooting steps. I followed them and replied back, and almost instantly Nicole from support responded with a prepaid shipping label for a replacement—no need to call or explain anything further. The entire process was seamless and hassle-free. After just a couple of follow-up emails on my part, I received a brand new replacement unit on the ninth day. This level of customer care is outstanding and shows how much Eufy values their customers. The vacuum itself is fantastic—powerful suction, smart mapping, and the UniClean station that automatically empties, washes, and refills the mop is a game changer. I highly recommend the Eufy S1 Pro for anyone looking for a premium, reliable robot vacuum with top-notch customer support! Lastly to all future buyers, here’s a helpful tip I learned during setup: always remove the water tank before flipping the unit over for maintenance or cleaning. The app gave me this warning when I received my replacement, and it’s also mentioned in the official user guide—removing the water tank first helps prevent spills or potential damage to the vacuum. This small step will help keep your S1 Pro running smoothly!
