Great for CPRE
An excellent read for the CPRE test and/or brushing up concepts for requirement engineers. I would recommend BCS Business analysis books as references to add onto some concepts mentioned here, especially modelling techniques.

A good study guide for the exam
Good book, a very useful guide for studying the IREB foundation exam. Doesn't contain example questions though.Very useful for people who already have some experience in the field, but like some formalisation of their methods.

Good for beginners and certification but content can be improved
I passed the CPRE exam using this book so it would be unfair to give it a bad review :)But on a serious notePros1. A good book for any beginner level IT business analystCons1. There are certain terms in German which find unnecessary mention in the book (just because the certifying body is German)2. Diagrams could have been better

Buen material
Un problema común en los desarrollos de sistemas es el levantamiento de requerimientos de los usuarios y sobre todo la falta de criterios para determinar si se a obtenido suficiente informacíón y de la calidad necesaria.

No content
As other have written, this is a study guide and does not contain very much useful information. The authors do a good job at outlining many of the typically overlooked concepts in RE. However, do not expect much helpful advice. Don't be fooled by the page count, more than 1/3 of the content is blank space, author recogition, etc. The text reads as if it were translated (from German I bet). Expect klunky run on sentences with unusual structure. I bought it for software requirements management. I am now looking for something practical and useful.

This book provides comprehensive coverage of all of the fundamentals essential for every business analyst or requirements engineer. Researched and written by world class practitioners.

A littlel ight but very informative
I had waited for this book since mid 2010 when I contacted the publisher to find out when the English version would be available, and although a little light in volume [147 pages] it is informative and to the point. So no waffle about what the author thinks or their own 'stories'/ experiences on the subject, which a lot of authors of technical manuals sometimes tend to do. I am a test professional and want to firm up my understanding in areas of Business Analysis/Requirements Eng and intend to take the CPRE Found. exam so this is perfect. In fact, sad as it sounds, I couldn't put it down and had read half of it before I realised. It flows, logically, through the requirements process and underpins the basics for a succesful grasp of the discipline. And although an essential read for the CPRE exam, it is a very handy reference manual, especially when as a tester I want to instill in colleagues the importance of good quality requirements. It does what it says on the tin and explains the processes involved for a good grounding in Requirments gathering. I think this is an essential bookshelf item for any BA/PM/Test Man/Analyst. A handy reference manual and an interesting, easy read. Well worth the wait and the money.

Complete & Concise
Covered all aspects of Requirement engineering without making it (even the technical elements) boring.Only draw back is the nonexistence of an Advanced level edition of the book.

Why I like that book........
I like that book - also as Trainer to train people becoming a certified professional requirement engineer - because it is focused very much on the KEY Topics short and crystal clear following the IREB Syllabus for the CPRE Foundation Level. Both the paper book as well as the kindle Edition helped me a lot to pass the certification immediately.A book, I can highly recommend to all People preparing the CPRE Examination. It contains all you need. Nevertheless the book is very compact and need some further studies, but in the book all sources for further studies are referenced. Thanks to the Authors.
