This board is the carrier of the VL53L0X, so we recommend that you carefully read the VL53L0X data sheet (1MB pdf) before using this product. The VL53L0 uses ST's FlightSense technology to accurately measure the time it takes for a transmitted infrared laser pulse to reach a small distance object and reflect it back to the detector, so it can be considered a small, self-contained laser radar system. This time-of-flight (TOF) measurement allows it to accurately determine the absolute distance to the target, and the reflectivity of the object does not greatly affect the measurement. The sensor can report distances of up to 2 m (6.6 ft) with a resolution of 1 mm, but its effective range and accuracy (noise) are heavily dependent on environmental conditions and target characteristics such as reflectance and size and sensor configuration. (The accuracy of the sensor is specified to exceed ± 10% from ± 3% to very poor). The measurement range is provided via the sensor's I2C (TWI) interface, which is also used to configure the sensor settings. The sensor also provides two additional pins: the input and interrupt outputs are turned off.VL53L0X is a great IC, but its small, leadless, LGA package makes it difficult for typical students or enthusiasts to use. It also operates at a recommended voltage of 2.8 V, which may make it difficult to interface with 3.3 V or 5 V microcontrollers. Our sub-board solved these problems, making it easier to start using the sensor while keeping the overall size as small as possible.PIN DescriptionVDD regulated 2.8 V output. Almost 150 mA can be used to power external components. (If you want to bypass the internal regulator, you can use this pin as a 2.8 V input and turn off VIN).VIN This is the main 2.6 V to 5
