I had used another company’s smart plugs but then tried this one—very pleased (great savings, too)!
This Amazon Basics smart plug is a simple and convenient way to add scheduling and remote control to everyday devices. Setup was straightforward, and I like being able to control the plug through the app and use voice commands when needed. The timer and scheduling features are especially useful for automating lights and other household items. It has a compact design and works reliably with my Wi-Fi. Overall, a handy smart-home accessory that is easy to use and offers plenty of convenience.

This is my favorite smart plug and I've tried tons of them
I've tried cheaper smart plug brands, but honestly, the easiest ones that don't require you to go through many extra steps just to get them to connect to Alexa are worth it. These are just plug-and-play, Alexa-compatible, and do the majority of the work for you. Plus, they are reliable for timing, and the quality is fantastic. I know I can count on these smart plugs to run my devices just the way I need them to when I am away. They are stable, and the timer is flawless. The price for the two-pack was reasonable, and I am a repeat buyer, having replaced my bargain smart plugs with these ones instead. When you need to depend on a smart plug to run your necessary devices, look no further.

Next best to native Alexa device
These are simple enough to configure and use. I would give the Alexa app itself a 2/5 rating. It's really a terrible app that is overly complicated in some ways and have far too few options in other ways. It's amazing how bad the Alexa app is. But THESE are great, so if you have an Alexa device and want to connect things, these won't make your life harder. I've set them up for Christmas lighting with a timer, I set one for my terrarium on multiple timers for heat lighting, I use one for a fan I can turn on/off when I want. I appreciate that I can redeploy them and change the settings fairly easily.

It works!!
This plug was so much easier to set up than the other one I tried. It only works with Alexa but as I use Alexa it is great. So far it has worked consistently with no problems whatsoever. Really happy with this product and it was inexpensive!

Simple, compact smart plug that works well with Alexa
This Amazon Basics Smart Plug has been a great addition to my home setup. I mainly use it with Alexa to control my cat’s litter box, and once it is running, it works reliably every time. This device could be used for multiple different appliances, lights, and anything else that needs to be plugged in. The it has stayed connected, and voice commands respond almost instantly. I also like being able to schedule it to turn on or off automatically, which makes daily routines easier. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because setup was not as easy as I hoped. It took me a couple of tries to get it to connect to Wi-Fi, and I had to reset it once before it finally worked. Once I got it paired, though, it has not dropped the connection since. It also has a little indicator light on it. The plug itself is compact, so it does not block the other outlet, and it has a very simple design. Overall, it is a dependable, budget-friendly smart plug that integrates well with Alexa devices and app.

these have thrown my life into chaos. I hate them. I wish they would leave earth forever.
Don’t be fooled by the product description that makes it sound like it’s as easy as plugging it in and then pairing it with your Alexa. No such thing. If you are on a 5G Internet, these plugs will not work at all. If you are on a dual band, you are going to have to split it so that your 2.4 G Internet can be accessed exclusively by the plugs. but know this splitting your dual band Internet into two separate Internet will sign you out out of every device you’ve ever put on, and will render all of your Alexa accessories useless because they don’t want to be hooked up to the same Internet as the plugs, but if they’re not, then the plugs don’t work. i’ve spent three days trying to get the plugs to work finally having to split my Internet, and then getting the plugs to work, but having all of my Alexa echoes go off-line and refuse to come back online. They only came back online when I hooked them back up to the 5G while all the plugs remain on the 2.4, and half the time the plugs are non-responsive and don’t work with Alexa at all. I honestly would’ve gotten much more use out of buying a single smart plug for the same price than these four smart plugs that require a very specific Internet bandwidth. The more expensive singular plug doesn’t care what your Internet is. Just as long as there’s Internet. I’m still trying to get my blink cameras to go back online after all of this. Two of my Amazon echoes are not working. And two of the plugs just don’t work at all. And none of them were simple to set up. First of all, the QR code you’re supposed to scan to set up your plug is located on the inside of the plug that faces the wall. So to set up the plug, which Amazon says you need to have going before you start the app, you have to scan the QR code that you can’t scan unless you unplugged the plug. So that is annoying. And if you can’t give it the right QR code it makes you pair by putting it into pairing mode, which, unlike regular technology, requires you to sit and hold the button down throughout the entire set process. That and then of itself drove me crazy, because the set up is not simple after that either. The darn thing never connects the first time. It takes forever to find the actual plug. Then it’s a crapshoot on whether or not it will want to connect to the Internet or Bluetooth. Then after that, who knows if Alexa will even want to recognize the plug exists. What should be a 5 to 10 minute process has turned into a 72 hour (and counting) nightmare. This was an incredibly frustrating waste of money for me, a frustrating waste of time, and a real eye-opener in my pursuit of technology and how much I utilize Amazon services. Maybe I need to start looking elsewhere for my smart home gadgets. If you’re not a master of Internet, technology and routers and bandwidth and all the things engineering, you do not want these smart plugs. Save yourself a headache and save yourself the money. Go find a smart plug that does not require you to split your Internet bands. They are four times more expensive, and 100 times less frustrating.

Easy peasy
We use Alexa to turn on and off a LOT of stuff. Alexa routines have made our lives a lot easier. Helping us remember things (we are older), order everyday items when needed, etc. Over the years we have tried many different plugs. Most need their own app to setup for Alexa use and reset up when they get disconnected or fail. What a pain in the butt. We got newer phones that absolutely refuse to connect to 2.4 ghz and stay there so you can setup new plugs to work with Alexa. Their solution is to go into your router, rename your 5ghz band to something else, restart your router blah blah blah. Nope. Ain't doin that. These plugs cost more..... And they only work with Alexa. So what?? That's all I use them with anyway and it's worth the few extra bucks to get something that literally takes about 2 minutes to set up. Wish I had been buying these from the get go. I don't know about you but I got enough crap to deal with. It's nice to have something that just works.... No hassle, no pain, no drama. I'm all in.

Do not waste money on the substitutes
I have tried other brands hoping for compatability at a better price. Not worth it: they dont sync well and you still end up using a second app. The Amazon ones pair instantly and easily.

Great product! Simple set up.
I will only ever buy this brand again. Set up was simple. Other brands use a hub app and it complicates set up. This one uses Alexa directly. I got all four plugs set up in moments. Thumbs up!
