Sets very easy just a turn of the dial and your toast is golden brown or how you like it. Perfect size on my counter. Great quality, love the black finish.

I love this toaster; the looks, the cool sides. the size that fits easily in my cupboard, the fast toasting and that it is lightweight so easy to pull up when I want to use it. I took off one star because the 1st and 3rd slots each have one side that does not fully turn red with heat. It has not affected the toasting with unevenness, so I am not returning as yet. There was no odor when heating it for 3 cycles before using it with bread. A win for me.

Hello all... When I first purchased this toaster a year or so ago, I was initially very impressed. It reminded me of the old fashioned toasters of yesteryear that were simple, yet very reliable. However, as time went on, I realized that many items that I wanted to toast, required double operations. For example, some bread items such as a frozen waffle - even when setting it on the max setting of 6 - would require two rounds just to get it cooked and brown enough. Yet, with other breads, it would do OK. We eventually came to realize that the toaster that we had previously, was superior and more consistant when it came to toasting different bread-based foods. So we're back in the game (as of this writing), looking for another toaster - but heck, the prices of these things have really risen.

I had a way more expensive brand (that I don't think I'm allowed to mention) for quite a few years now and I've always hated it because it took so incredibly long to cook the toast! It felt like forever before the toast popped up and then I would have to put it back down again!! It was also very difficult to push the toast down, which I'm assuming was the demise of that expensive toaster because the one side I used all the time would no longer stay down! I had a Proctor Silex for many many years when I was first starting out on my own (50 years ago!) and I never had a problem with it so I decided to give it a shot again and I'm very happy that I did! It's also MUCH smaller and compact so takes up less counter space then my last four slice toaster and is more attractive with it shiny black sides. You will not regret buying this toaster

This toaster is not only very attractive, it toasts perfectly, and quickly,unlike our old toaster oven. The settings provided are very effective. Highly recommended!
