Spigen for Galaxy Z Fold 6 Case, Slim Armor Pro (2024) [Hinge Protection] - Gunmetal

This is by far the best case for the Z fold 8 for me. This marks the fourth case I have tried. First the magnet is definitely the strongest. It does not slide or rotate on my car magsafe charger. I'm able to have it open vertical or horizontal and it holds steady. Second the case correctly guides my fingers to the power and columns buttons. Several cases only make a indication on the bottom half of the case. This causes your fingers to slide right past the power and volume rocker. This case has found a way to split the difference and guides your fingers to those buttons. Third this also has an actual mechanical hinge that works well and is very thin. Most other cases in reality just have a molded piece of plastic that really isn't a mechanical hinge. Fourth the case finds a way to offer chunky protection but remain slim while holding it in your hands. I highly recommend this case for z fold 8 owners.

Stuck with spigen ever since. Never disappoints! This was perfect for my use case. The hinge protection is also hinged so it doesn't need a magnet to keep itself in place. The grip is sufficient and what I mean by that is if your hand is absolutely dry, the case will be slippery. But if your hand is reasonably hydrated, it is very gripy. The thinness is also perfect for me, barely added any bulk and when I had side by side with my s24 ultra, the case probably added an extra 3-5mm in width (?). So it's quite negligible. In terms of fit and quality, very worth the money! The added magsafe feature is very strong too, paired it with a popsocket and it takes a significant amount of force to take it off.

TL;DR: I WOULD recommend this to others, with a couple of caveats (adhesive strips, un-helpful install video, difficult install process), such that they go into the purchase fully informed first. But for only about $34 (at the time of purchase), this is a perfectly acceptable case. Make sure you get a screen protector for the outside screen separately, however, as this case doesn’t come with one! Will start with the negatives: For one, nowhere in the original product post did it say anything about adhesive strips needing to be used to hold this case on. Was willing to look past that (and the challenge it could cause with temporarily taking the phone out of the case), but then when trying to remove the little sticker back things on the actual adhesive strips, nearly every single one ripped off, instead of properly peeling. I had to go and get tweezers to try and remove the little backing paper, and even then, even when being extremely careful, the adhesive stickers basically disintegrated. So that was frustrating… If I had known this case requires stickers, I’d not have selected it in the first place. Then, actually putting the case on… it comes with a little QR code to scan, that instead of bringing you to the installation video/steps for the specific phone, model, it brings you to a full library of all of their installation videos, and this one was way down near the bottom (for the Galaxy Z Fold 8). Then, actually getting it on was a real pain… Even watching the video, since it didn’t have any explanation, and was basically a live-action version of IKEAs ‘picture only’ instructions, some very key parts weren’t totally clear. For example, needing to get the phone fully situated in the case on the camera side first, and then the other side wasn’t clear at all in the video, where it instead looked like the man placed his phone open, glass-side down, flat on a table, and then pressed the case on from the back. Trying to do it that way led only to frustration. It makes sense with hindsight why it’s required to seat this phone on one side first, but it would have been nice if the video made it more clear, or if, in the most ideal scenario, there were actual steps listed or printed somewhere. This was more frustrating than it needed to be. Final comment before getting to the positives, is (as seen in attached image), after only one day of use, there’s already a bit of wear and an indent on the back where it was attached to a mag-safe magnet. May not be a big deal, but was a bit surprising to see. Most likely just superficial. Now, onto the positives! Once the case is actually on, the look and feel of this case is great. It does seem like it will do a decent enough job protecting the phone. I especially appreciate the extra care and thought put into the little beveled area (see image) near the volume/etc buttons, that makes it so convenient to open the phone up. Compared to the other case I tried, and some others I’ve seen online, this hinge protector appears slimmer and better designed than most others. Finally, personally, I appreciate that there is more clearance around the charging port. I have a couple of charging/data cords that are a little beefy, and the previous case I tried had no clearance, resulting in the cord not being able to get all the way in, and thus leading to an intermittent connection (at best).

After trying a few cases and having issues with them (flimsy kickstands, loose fittings, or overly bulky) decided to try this case and absolutely love it though I do have two slight complaints. The case itself feels durable and install was super simple and straight forward. Peel the covers off the sticky mounts and press on the phone with it open. Before install I noted the case resisted flexing before install and either open or closed the linked hinges feel solid and always line up perfectly and just feels great in the hand. I very much like that there is no built in screen protector so you can choose your own. But that leads to the first downside for me. The left side of the front screen case is super thin and just flexes and shifts alot. I am tempted to try and find some super thin adhesive tape to hold it down but without the built in cover it's to be expected. Though would be amazing if that was included. The other issue is the hinge cover. The springs return nicely and it's a very slim cover for dust and dirt but being so thin it does seem warped and doesn't sit very flush with the rest of the case. Pressing on it gently you can see it shift closer and flex slightly. I am not sure if it's a general fitment issue from the thin flexible edge of the front screen case or not. While not a major concern it should be noted. The magnet itself is insanely strong in mine. I have seen others complain but I feel with quality magsafe products it's not an issue. My scosche car mount can hold the phone folded open in portrait view without falling or rotating. My battery pack attaches strongly but the real kicker is the magsafe kickstand. I can not remove it folded flat against the phone the magnets are just too strong. I have to open it and lever it off the back to swap the the car dock. Not a downside in my opinion. Overall it's an amazing case without the gimmicks or niche ideas I have had in others that honestly just complicate the design without adding long term value. Will definitely be choosing spigen again.

Don't recommend for anyone who uses the open mode to play games. Very expensive and because of the design the hinge protector, phone can no longer sit flat on table in tablet mode. Some people like this as it props the phone up a tad for watching a video. The problem with this is if you want your phone to stay still while tapping on screen, it will not. Since there is no way to disable hinge protector, especially while open that does not require you to either completely remove the case (ruining the adhesive strips every time) or ripping the hinge off completely defeating the purpose of a hinge protector in the first place as once it's forcibly removed I doubt it will just pop back on (considering it's held in place with springs that would unwind once removed). This is an enthusiast level price being 75+ USD and some countries complaining of prices due to shipping issues of 200+ in some areas because of availability. That is a lot to spend on a case that offers close to no protection if dropped while screen is open (the bevel on insides is same level as the screen, so realistically it's offering no protection for dropped open devices which is the most likely scenario I drop it in. Realistically, with this case on this phone it becomes worse than my s23 for gaming purposes since the outside screen is smaller, and who buys a MSRP $2k phone for not enjoying games on the larger screen. TLDR; Overpriced cheap Chinese design that uses super glue to hold it on the device (adhesive strips). No forethought went into the design of this case for the device it was made, as the usage of this device is meant to be primarily open for the bigger screen real estate. Avoid this and get an otter box, you'll get a better protecting case, that is bulkier, but will not require you to play games at a third of the size of the device is capable of. If someone had handed me the (2) pieces of the case that locks on phone and asked me how much I thought it cost, I would have said 15-20 bucks, not 70+. I probably wouldn't buy another Spigen case, as this is the second case I bought in the last 3 years for 2 different devices at a high price that burned me. If Spigen would stop firing their engineers (the people that made them a good company in the first place) and outsourcing their manufacturing needs to a cheap Chinese company(ies) (only to slap their own "logo" on the side and call it a day) they might retain some of their somehow loyal customers for a mediocre overprice product. I on the other hand won't get burned a third time, and if you're considering buying spigen, don't. Save 30 bucks and buy an otterbox, as it offers better protection and a better design especially for games. Couldn't be more disappointed in spigen products over the last year or two. Management seems to be making poor decisions to cheap out in cost while cheapening the quality of the product. Some might call that "good marketing" but even a student failing a basic economics course in college can tell you this strategy only pays off in the extreme short run and always leads to bankruptcy. The shame here is spigen used to make amazing cases. Now management destroyed the name.

The case looks great and has great intentions. The case itself especially on the front screen where it folds out has a VERY flimsy plastic portion. You can easily bend that plastic portion by touching it with near zero pressure. It feels very cheap for the price you're paying. The slim portion of the case is awesome, specifically when folded open. The case itself if a great option (when I bought it at $45) just for the fact that it's almost half the price of an otter box. But it is most definitely not worth in any sense, a $79.99 price tag. As for the magsafe, the magsafe portion is a 50/50 shot whether you'll be able to use it or not. I personally can only use my magsafe magnetic stand and that's it. My code 118 wallet with magsafe capabilities won't work. The case would be perfect if they could just simply relocate the magsafe portion of the case down another 1/8" inch. Overall the phone feels a lot better in your hands and feels more protected than if it didn't have the case on there (Duh). As of right now, if something was to break on this case I would break down and buy the otterbox if I was wanting a more superior warranty guarantee and definitly more superior protection. Some other key points that may be of interest: -this case doesn't hinder the sounds quality of your speakers -great hinge protection -YOU CAN USE A GLASS SCREEN PROTECTOR PERFECTLY! (a huge selling point for me!) -somewhat the same size as my s23 ultra with an otterbox on it (maybe 1/8" thicker when folded closed) -very thin when folded open (doesn't really change the thickness of the phone, keeping the advertised thickness as advertised and seen on praised on YouTube videos) -you can easily get to your buttons and still use your fingerprint scanner on the side with ease (Even when folded closed) Cons: -Magsafe accessories have a 50/50 shot that they're truly going to be compatible or not due to how far they molded their magnet into the case -double sided tape used for extra "hold security" on the inside with a form of a "Snap one in to fit" -flimsy plastic (DON'T SPEND A FORTUNE ON THIS CASE, IT'S DEFINILTY NOT WORTH MORE THAN $50)

So far this is the best case I've found for the Z Fold 8. It is one piece, good bumper for the front screen, and keeps the phone slim profile while protecting the phone from all angles. It is thr only full case I've used that doesn't make it awkward to use the fingerprint scanner either. Hinge protector is slim against the phone so it doesn't feel bulky either

Me encanta. Si buscas una funda fina esta no es para ti. Es una funda no muy gruesa que de verdad protege, sin más. Calidad de acabados, sistema de protección de bisagra, magsafe, simplemente spigen, llevo más de un a década confiando en sus fundas por algo. Si como yo tienes dudas del color Metal Slate, solo te diré que es precioso, al menos a mi me encanta. Adjunto una foto con la Spigen en color negro y el propio ZFold8 al lado. Es un color más próximo al oscuro del samsung que al negro como tal. Es un color muy elegante y agradecido. Si acaso le pondría un punto de mejora. Que la parte trasera tuviese algún rayado como el del lateral de la bisagra, para que fuese menos escurridizo en la mano y también en cargadores inalámbricos magsafe, que el de spigen por ejemplo también es liso y hace que el tlf se gire si pretendes usar el gps con la pantalla abierta (hace mucha palanca para el poco agarre que tienen entre los 2). Por todo lo demás, tal cual como la buscaba.

Great think case with hinge protection!! The hinge cover is probably one of the slimmest on marker! And it's not cheap! Build with texture pattern, so it provide lots of grip
