My older Lexus's temp gauge always shows the exact same point on the scale no matter the time of year or outdoor temperature, once the engine warms up. I've been curious what the temperature actually is though since the gauge isn't market other than C and H. This cap does not install on the radiator itself, at least not on my car, but on a coolant line that runs between the engine and the radiator. It is obviously smaller than a typical radiator cap. If you can't see a thing that looks like a 2/3 size radiator cap on your car, it probably won't work for your application so check before ordering.My car shows a very steady 180 degrees on the gauge dial when it's warmed up and I'll use it to check from time to time just to keep tabs on my car's cooling system temperature. I do want to add that it was rather a tight squeeze to install it on my car as the little metal tabs which attach it may have been made slightly too tight, but I was still able in a couple seconds to get the cap in place and properly tightened.One other thing, this one is rated for 1.8 Bar of pressure which equates to 26 psi. Check the rating your car needs before ordering; I see others which are rated for lower pressure ratings and your car may call for one of those instead, so it would be better to get one that's rated for your car's specs.
