I hate to say but there is nothing like an iPhone.
Being an iPhone user for last 5 year I switched to android for 6 months. Even though android has improved but was missing the stability and smoothness of iOS. iPhone 8 plus is an improvement in every sense. Pros are great camera, stellar battery life and great stereo speakers. Only 1 con, its a bit heavy compared to last gen due to glass back. About Camera: This is the best smartphone camera I have ever used and I have used most flagships of 2016/17. It has a ultra fast shutter speed and it’s almost impossible to take a blurry photo with this one. Studio lighting Feature is nice to have. It has a far better camera than 7 plus and Samsung s8. Battery : I don’t play games so battery easily last me 2 days or even more. In iOS the standby time is amazing. If I sleep at 40% battery and wake up in the morning then the battery is still 40%. That’s why apple devices doesn’t perform that well in battery tests on YouTube but provides better battery life in real world usage where mostly our phones are idle. iPhone 8 or 8 plus: definitely 8 plus, don’t even think about it, I was planning to buy 8 because it is handy but with 8 plus you get a lot more like dual camera, better battery and full hd display and this year the price difference between the Normal and plus model is only 9k so go with plus and you won’t regret. Storage: I thought 64gb won’t be sufficient but I was wrong. Due to new file system by apple the image size have been significantly reduced so 64 gb is more than sufficient for most users. Speakers: this is the primary reason I like 8 plus better than other iPhones. Speakers this year are really loud and clear. I don’t feel the need to connect headphones or external speakers when I am using YouTube etc. the sound is sufficiently loud if you are in a quiet room, best in any smartphone according to me. Fast charger not included in the box but I charge it with 10w iPad charger and it does 0-80% in 1 hour so not bad. (Yes you can safely use iPad charger, it’s even mentioned on apple website) Thank you Amazon for providing a sweet exchange deal on pre-order.

Iphone and you......
There has been a craze among people to attain at least an Iphone, irrespective of the product being latest or a bit old edition, during lifetime. As far as I am concerned,it has been a sheer dream to lay my hands on this incredible product, feel the difference in texture and bask in the glorious legacy of technological supremacy. No feeling is as precious as the one which brings in contentment. The model Iphone 8 plus was released in 2017 and the manufacturing date of the product purchased is August 2018. The battery was completely drained out and I had to put it on charging. Generally, what happens is a new device never goes out of its charge at the time of opening the package and I have found that recently while opening the Ipad with the battery being 85% charge left. From this end, it was a mild shock at the beginning that eventually ebbed away with the finding of getting it charged later. It took more than three hours to get it 100% charged. Then, it has been a sheer pleasure that fills you with. Incredibly different and being different from others is a boon . The review section has been flooded with technicalities -- divided with pros and cons, but to me the moment the device is felt in my hand, I will treasure that moment and it will be secretly kept in my heart forever. The last but not the least, Amazon should be appreciated for such a speedy delivery -- less than 24 hours had been taken to deliver the shipment. In the field of authenticity, the seller- Appario Pvt Ltd, has been incredibly trustworthy as both my Ipad and now Iphone were purchased through this entity. Authenticity is a major issue in the era of counterfeiting and the seller should be admired profusely in this segment as a customer deserves nothing but an authentic product and discounts won't help much if a certain product is found to be fake. Time will prove if my first ever Iphone laced with dream and expectation passes the test of endurance with flying colours.

6 Months Later - An Infrequent Phone Buyer's Review
An iphone, especially the latest iphone, isn't something most of us buy without putting a lot of thought into it, and here's my review about whether or not it lived up to my expectations. I'm not from a tech background, thought I am a tech enthusiast, so I'm going to list the aspects that are most important to me as a non-technical tech person. With each category, I am listing one or more key questions that I want answers to when choosing a phone, and that I hope will be instrumental in helping you obtain clarity with making a decision regarding this phone. 1. CONSISTENCY - I live in the city, and as much for safety as for convenience, it's very important for me that my phone not get hanged at crucial moments, like when I need to make emergency phone calls, or when I'm navigating using maps. So, my key questions for this aspect is: Does it make calls quickly and efficiently when I need it to? -Yes, about 90% of the time. 3 times in 6 months, it rebooted on its own, and once it got hanged badly enough that I had to restart it. Compared to all of the other phones I have handled, that's by far the best performance. Do Google maps work seamlessly, even with low battery? -Yes, even when battery goes down to 2%. With other apps being used, the phone can handle this effortlessly. Battery life - Lasts all day, sometimes upto 24 hours with making calls, messaging, taking photos, and navigating. My Rating: 9/10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2. CAMERA - In a cinch, it's instagram-worthy, not DSLR level. Takes good natural light photos, but there isn't much clarity when zooming in, even with the secondary camera. The camera of Samsung galaxy note 8 is better by comparison. Key Questions: Are photos good enough for social media purposes? -Yes Are they good enough for documenting important memories? -Not for me. My Rating: 7/10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3. OVERALL USER-EXPERIENCE - Great. Key Question: Is it fun using the phone? -Yes, definitely. 9/10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MY SOLUTIONS TO SOME COMMON PROBLEMS WITH THIS PHONE: 1. The glass back - This was my biggest worry, but I solved it by purchasing a rose-gold spigen phone case. It's preserved the look of the phone, has been no inconvenience in terms of charging or button-press, and has provided good protection. Here's the link to the cover I have: Spigen Ultra Hybrid 2 Case for iPhone 7 Plus (2016) / iPhone 8 Plus (2017) - Rose Crystal 043CS21136 2. The size - I'm switching from a Nexus 6 to this, so this isn't really a concern for me. I find it quite easy to operate with one hand, and the large display is definitely a worthwhile tradeoff. 3. Price - I like to use phones for a long period of time, so I prefer to invest in a good one rather than switch every so often. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you're looking to buy an iphone, this is clearly the best one available right now. The 256 GB model has been found to have slightly better performance compared to the 64 GB variant. If you're undecided between the 7 or 7 plus and the 8 plus, I would say, go for this one because it's better value for money. The next one will come out soon and you don't want to waste your money on a phone that is that much closer to being obsolete. If you're undecided between the 8 and the 8 plus, I would say go for this one unless you really, vehemently dislike the size from personal experience, because a few people I know who never thought they'd be ok with larger size phones actually ended up finding it pretty easy to use. If you're undecided between a similar tier Android phone and this one, it depends on your usage, because an iphone doesn't have some important features, including my personal complaint - App store. Google Play store has far more variety of free apps. Most iphone apps have some important features paid, and that's been a major inconvenience to me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you're wondering whether it's worthwhile spending this much money on a phone, ask yourself this: Is it very important to you for it to function correctly, without lag or without getting hanged, any time and every time? -If yes, then go for this one. If no, you could probably find a cheaper alternative. A word of caution when it comes to buying this phone on Amazon: You can't return this phone. If you need a replacement, they will schedule a home visit to verify. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you found my review helpful in making your decision, I would really appreciate it if you let me know by giving it a thumbs up. If you have any questions, please ask me by commenting.

9+ months later: Like fine wine, getting better with time.
My nine months later update- The most noticeable improvements are the portrait mode in the camera which is no more in beta, has better edge detection and improvements in low light images, can take portraits with the flash, and the speakers that have more bass. The portrait lighting features don't work well yet and need time before they come out of beta. Even after coming out of beta, they will continue being "meh". The general performance is as expected with fast opening apps, but lag and stutters are becoming far more persistent each time Apple releases a new version. They don't affect the usability of the phone in any manner, but people buy iPhones because they are known to be free from such issues. Even with iOS 11.0.2 as on Oct 8th, 2017, micro stutters, lag in 3D touch, app crashes, blanking of home screens is being seen. The screen has truetone built in, which does nothing much other than giving the screen a warmer tint in varying degrees depending on the ambient light the user is in. Battery life, however, has been consistent with 6-7 hours of constant usage. Wireless charging is a novelty which is in dire need of speed improvement. Currently, it seems more like a compromise than a feature, with it being even slower than wired charging. Apple will enable fast charging with a software update in early 2018. It is iOS that makes the iPhone an iPhone. The integration with MacOS, features like handoff, continuity, universal copy paste, AirDrop make it stand out from its competitors. The stability and fluidity, when the bugs are sorted, timely updates to the OS, iMessage, FaceTime, camera consistency, video stability, 4K at 60fps, 1080p at 240fps, etc are unique and well-performing services. That being said, there is no reason to not consider the competition. For people who are using the 7 Plus, you are not missing out on ANYTHING. The camera improvements are minimal and not enough to justify spending money on this. Wireless charging is not a life-changing feature. At least not yet. Till the time phones are able to charge from a distance or not require charging in weeks, I don't see how wireless charging is any improvement in the user experience. Plugging in the cord takes 2 extra seconds of your time. That's it. You are going to get wireless charging in all future iPhones, so you must use your current iPhones till they perform reasonably well and not upgrade for this reason alone. We should change the mentality of upgrading every year. That is not worth it, even if you have all the money in the world. Improvements are always incremental. iPhone 6 or 6 plus owners can upgrade, people switching from Android, or first-time smartphone buyers may consider buying this. Rest everyone else should hold off till the iPhone X or next year's models. 9 months later update: • Now on iOS 11.4- Most of the bugs have been smoothed out, with 3D Touch lag and frame rate skips eliminated. However, there have been a couple of random reboots in a week with the screen suddenly going blank and the phone restarting. Hope this gets sorted in the next update. Such behaviour is atypical of iPhones. After 9 months, no more random reboots after the few I experienced on iOS 11.2 and earlier versions. • Battery life has been consistent and exceptional for me giving close to 8 hours of constant use without needing a recharge. Heavy gaming or camera usage will bring down the usage times by half, though. • Standby times are, as always, excellent with the battery dropping only 2-3% for every 5-6 hours of standby. • The portrait mode has not seen any drastic changes or improvement. Portrait Lighting still remains inconsistent. Even after 9 months, portrait mode hasn’t seen any improvement. • Wireless charging is still very slow despite iOS 11.2 bringing in an extra 2.5 watt of current increase through wireless pads. It still takes ages to charge wirelessly. Other subtle things- • The glass on the back in the gold colour is very good at hiding finger smudges. Taking it out of a case after prolonged use makes one realise how soft to touch the glass feels. It’s a nice feeling and a welcome change from the aluminium phones of previous years. • The High-Efficiency Video Coding format used by Apple this time reduces the file size of photos and videos being shot. They take up much less space and makes living with the 64GB variant much easier. Not that I ever found the storage inadequate in the first place. • The Taptic motor on this phone is hands-down the best in the business. Subtle systemwide haptic feedbacks like the gentle tap when an app reload completes are a nice touch and make the phone feel alive and more immersive to use. Closing thoughts- My experience has been very pleasing and satisfactory. I hadn’t posted a four star rating earlier in January 2018, but I have changed it to 5 stars as all issues have been sorted by software updates. Software-wise, the performance has been incredible. The hardware has held up really well. I’ve used this without a case for many days at a stretch and no scratches are visible on the Gold model. Other colours may show different results. This phone will serve me a good 3-4 years before I need to upgrade. Consistent software updates, excellent hardware both inside and out, for me personally, the best camera on any smartphone yet (the pixel 2 is very good but not as consistent as this and it has more digital noise in its images), leave it as the best phone on the market right now.

An amazing iPhone at an amazing price!
It’s an iPhone after all! I would like to review it on some basic points. Camera - The camera is brilliant. It’s an upgrade to 7plus camera, with better portrait mode and beta lighting. Although no wide angle lens is available in this module, yet it captures awesome shots. Battery - iPhone is not widely known for a terrific battery performance, so it’s standard wrt apple phones. It definitely delivers improved battery life than its previous generations. Built quality- Aesthetically an amazing piece. Smooth glass back with aerospace graded aluminium structure give a perfect premium look. Display- Apple engineered Hd Retina display. It may not be an Led or Qled, but you will never complain about the display. It’s cool and handsome for movie and video watching. Sound- Louder than previous generation and delivers crisp sound with perfect clarity. Although it belongs to 2017 iPhone line-up, yet its A-11 bionic chip is any day faster and dynamic compared to presently available android phones. You can have a beast in terms of performance. If someone is okay with the thick bezel and traditional iPhone design with the same touch id and ips display, this might be the best option. Amazon offered it for ₹42k, which seems to be a great deal. Am impressed.

A solid phone even in 2020
Bought the space grey 64gb version for Rs. 42,000 Pros: Camera is pretty decent till date. Using a third party software for night mode gets the job done. Performance is blazing fast even in 2020 (obviously it’s iOS). Stereo speakers work pretty fine. Should be getting iOS updates for the next 3-4 years for its given hardware specifications. Touch ID: With corona situation, no use of Face ID. Additionally Touch ID is faster than Face ID in various cases. Cons: Charging speed isn’t great so get a 15w fast charger externally. Single handed usage: NO With its fragile glass back, impossible to have the device naked. If you’re looking for a device which isn’t having the design language of 2020, but features which are practical such as wireless charging, ip67 waterproof rating, better battery life, good gaming performance and a decent camera without emptying your wallet, this is the best you can get. A best alternative for iPhone SE 2020, if you wouldn’t mind the massive size of iPhone 8 Plus. Finally, my personal advice: Do not spend extra 25-30K on a device just to say its name. This gets the job done. These phones are very close to their tech.

A Great phone at a very premium price
I was an android user since 2011. I always kept iPhone away while buying a new phone. My primary concern while selecting a smartphone is the Camera. And my previous Xperia and Samsung flagships served well in that purpose. This time I have short listed Galaxy Note 8 and iPhone 8 plus. Since the price difference between both of them are small and the lags on my last android phones compelled me to buy iPhone 8 Plus. I have previously used iphone 5S and 6 Plus for a short period. Both were 16gb and I returned to Android phones due to limited sharing options and lack of extra storage. Speaking of iPhone 8 plus, it is beautiful, heavy weighted, elegant by looks. The performance is very fast, the camera is just awesome. There is ton of iPhone 8 Plus reviews on Youtube/internet so I am not going to review it here.I am just sharing some pros and cons according to my usage Pros: :- Super fast :- Elegant & beautiful design. :- Large screen of 5.5 inch. :- Good battery backup. Lasts full day on heavy usage. :- Finger print reader (touch ID) :- Great photos both day light and low light. :- Quad LED flash :- Very good portrait photos. (Stage light is a hit or miss all other mods work beautifully) :- 2X optical zoom using Dual 12mp cameras. :- Great quality, loud sound. :- 7mp front camera. :- Awesome 240FPS slow-motion videos in 1080p :- Great video quality :- Wireless charging. :- Not much heating. Cons: :- Very high price when compared to other countries :- Very large & heavy. It is very difficult to hold for long time. Hands get hurts. :- Large Bezels make one handed operation difficult. :- Apple's new image & video format is not supported by most devices. :- No complete file manager. :- No dedicated headphone jack. We should keep a bluetooth headphone to use while charging. :- Limited sharing functionality. :- Un grouped notifications are annoying. :- IOS 11 is buggy and there is an update each weak. :- No fast charging adapter (We can charge using fast charging power bank or other phones adapter though) :- Same old design. :- The black glass gonna break easily. :- We have to use a thick case to protect the camera due to camera bump. :- The display is not as good as Samsung flagships. I have attached some photos taken using my iPhone 8 plus. Please have a look
