Essential English Grammar with Answers

I received the book today. Pages are in good condition. The book is for beginners. Syllabus of grammar is given from basics. I find the book very useful. Thank you amazon. In the days ahead I will update more.

I bought these because I was not happy with the last few editions of Wren and Martin. Loads of practice, but a little too complicated for a beginner to use as self study. A but of guidance is needed. Although there is loads of material to work with, the layout is cramped – might want to use a separate notebook to write out your answers. Intermediate and advanced books are great. Best part is the answer key is included. Makes life easier!  Language is suited to Asian students (I do not appreciate the explicit distinction on the cover though). Examples are provided. There are a variety of exercises and formats for each section , makes practice fun. Plenty of b&w sketches included. Fantastic to use if you’re a teacher like me, each section and exercise is categorized ,planned and illustrated neatly . Worth buying the set of 3.

It's a very practical english learning book. Makes learning easy and fun. Gives the basics in a few lines. Followed by illustrated questions. Answers at the back of the book.

Essential English Grammar - A self-study reference and practice book for elementary students of English (with answers) by Raymond Murphy. This is one of the best books in India to purchase in order to improve your grammar. This is one of the best books for improving your grammar through means of doing the exercises in this book. It is hence super practical! It's one of the highest and best selling grammar books in India and it's sold at nearly all bookshops which sell school books/educational books. All shopkeepers are familiar with this book and stock up on it be it a Crossword store or the educational book stores close to the Shivaji Nagar Railway Station in Pune. I've been familiar with this book since 2006 and have gifted several copies of this book to my close friends who needed to improve their English skills for job interviews, bettering their career and position themselves for better job prospects. I'm not saying that it's a quick fix solution. Nothing is accomplished in life by taking shortcuts! If everyday you do one chapter with a pencil in the book I'm sure that after 3-4 months at least your written English skills should improve. When to use 'the', 'a' and 'an' and when to leave them out is a big issue in India among those who speak/write English. Also which preposition to use along with which verb in a sentence is a big issue in India. The exercises in this book are easy and on the level of 7-8th standard English levels and is highly recommended for those in the corporate sector or even working professionals with years of corporate level experience where English isn't their mother tongue! Give this grammar book a try and you'll not regret it. It contains 114 chapters with an appendix and the answers are given at the back as well (please don't cheat but diligently do the exercises on your own without taking any help!). This publication from Cambridge University Press is highly recommended and can be given as a gift as well. I'm giving it five stars all the way. Delivery was super fast by Amazon India and I got this book at a very good price.
