Generic Sound Studio Recording Dynamic Professional Condenser Microphone Set, Blue (Requires Phantom Power Connection) - Xlr

This might be the most useful and long review for this product:Overview:I ordered this mic for music purposes. I recieved the following items in the box:Shock mountMicrophoneWind ProtectorXlr to 3.5 mm cable.The build quality of the mic is really amazing. It looks exactly like a professional studio mic.When I connected it to my laptop, I was surprised to notice that the mic didn't worked(using audacity)But then I realised that you need to get a phantom power, sound card or an audio interface. I didn't wanted to spend that much so I ordered a cheap sound card (150rs). When I plugged my mic using that sound card, I was not very happy, again. It captured a lot of background noise and the volume and quality of the recorded sound was also very poor.I further ordered an another sound card (400rs). And when I recorded using that sound card, I was shocked. The quality of the Recordings was amazing. There was not a single bit of background noise. It was amazing.I watched a couple videos on YouTube and did some research and that this microphone gettin better and better as we buy good interfaces. I you already have an audio interface or phantom power then this mic is the best choice in this price range. But if you don't have these interfaces, then your should buy a sound card (dont buy cheap ones).I will recommend buying the sound card that I bought. Search on Amazon for "sound card". There will be a sound card (silver in colour) wth a title something like" new release". Just search for that and but that sound card.But if you are planning to buy phantom power just fit using this mic, then it is just useless. It's way better that you but a usb mic like the blue snowball,it will cost you less and it will also come along with a stand.Now, let's look at some pros and cons:PROS:1) WELL BUILT2) ATTRACTIVE DESIGN3) IF USED WITH PROPER INTERFACES OUT SoUND CARDS , Then the quality of recording is amazing (studio quality)CONS:1) DOES NOT COME WITH A STAND DO WE HAVE TO BUY IT SEPARATELY (fit 1300rs)2) IT CANNOT BE USED WITHOUT A SOUND CARD OR INTERFACE.Do these were the pros and cons of the microphone.Important Calculations:If you will buy this mic and also a mic stand separately, then I would not recommend you buying this mic.The Simple reason is that because In this you have to spend 2000+1300rs=3300rs.And after this your also need to buy sound card or some interface. So in totality you have to spend around 5000 rs.But for around 4000 you can buy blue snowball which already comes with a stand and does require any sound card (because it is usb mic).And it will also give you better quality of recordings and will serve more purposes.[...]

I brought this product for two reasons:1. I wanted to experiment/learn to Podcast/Create Courses/Presentations.2. As a newbie to audio world I wanted to maintain budget.While many of the other products mentioned a need for phantom power this didn't.When I received this microphone it didn't work on my new laptop that had a single jack for headset(similar to as used in cell phones)I managed to borrow a win10 laptop having separate microphone jack was able to record sound though the volume was low...I did tweak few things like on Windows right click the speaker icon(located on the right side of task bar for controlling volume) selected recording devices, disabled internal mic, changed the properties of external microphone.The quality was not good but atleast ensured microphone works.On my new laptop I tried external USB soundcard worth 100INR but I guess I got a faulty soundcard.Suddenly I remembered by old 2006 Vista laptop which almost got discarded due to Vista and Other issues...Surprisingly my new microphone worked without any issues...The sound quality is good and everything seems to be wonderful. Now I just need to improve my voice:)So I think there are genuine feedback by people who says this is not working or needs phantom power...but I guess we cannot blame this microphone alone...we also need to see how this gets paired with the device it gets connected.

Its an awesome product!!... Worth every penny spent... It recording quality is super fabulous... 4 star because... It requires a phantom to give audio to its extreme potential... But without it too it gives a studio quality audio... So no complains...Editting this review now after a month... It worked superb... But its been a bit of time.. .and it suddenly stopped working... Like i was recording... And mic stopped capturing voice in middle.... I tried to check connections... All were perfect... But i can not find the reason! I need a replace!

This is the mic which I have got along with the other products in description its actually bm 3000 I got a different product but it is nice, if you are working with desktop I would suggest a sound card and you can use phantom power also but I don't suggest, and you can also use an audio interface , if you are using laptop you would be needing a phantom power for power supply and you can use an audio interface for better experience.But product which I have got is good for beginners
