Great price, mfg quality looks okay and they both work out of the box. USB C to A adapters a bonus.
This not about reliability as I just bought them (2 pcs) but I have tested them and both work quite well so far. I did a test transfer of 33GB+ of my equipment manuals and pictures from a desktop PC ssd to a usb ssd using one adapter and got about 100MB/sec average write with as high as 290 briefly and throttled down to MB/s a couple of times. The adapter was warm but not hot when the transfer was done. The throttling down was probably partly because the external ssd was getting hot internally and in one case because there were large numbers of small files in that folder.

Seems to work great
Works as advertised with my old SSD. I didn't know if it would pass SMART commands, but I can run a SMART report on the drive. I plugged in my old SSD and (through some magic) the /home directory was mounted and I could access all my old files. Transfers also seemed lightening fast, even though I only had a USB 2.0 port for this. NOTE: This adapter will not work with 3.5" sata hard drives (I think because they cannot be powered through the USB port; they have another adapter with an independent AC brick/cable to supply more power). Note that the cable is short (<11 in.), so my SSD hangs unsupported. The connection was firm enough (and the ssd light enough) that it's not an issue. If your 2.5" hdd is heavy, that might be an issue.

Worked great. Easy to use.
Easy to use. If you have a 3.5 inch drive you need the one with external power. I plugged it in following the instructions and was easily accessed an odd hard drive for some family photos. Worked flawlessly.

Works okay, pretty slow but it's a decent price
Transfer speeds are pretty slow for me even going transferring from a M.2 to a SATA SSD it took probably 20 minutes to transfer a couple GBs of data so not really ideal but less of a pain that directly connecting to SATA

Does the job
This is a well made cable. My hard drive was toast so I could not read it. Maybe later I can use it for adding a new SDD for backing up my computer.

Durable, useful, good price
Inexpensive but useful cable to transfer data to or from a SATA drive. I had a drive that I pulled from a dead laptop. I needed to get the data off the harddrive for my son so this cable adapter was exactly what I needed. The SATA end plugged in to the drive and I was able to transfer the data via a USB port.

Just got this adapter this afternoon. I bought it primarily to connect and wipe clean a pile of old HDDs I have from several decommissioned PCs. Works as advertised. I was able to peruse my old drives for files I might want to keep before I wiped them. Just be sure to follow the instructions for connecting and disconnecting the external drive. Write speeds for older drives were quite slow. But I'm talking about a 21 year old WD2500 Caviar. Overall, exactly what I had hoped for. Easy to use. I would recommend this product ... so far.
