This USB-C CAC reader works perfectly without additional drivers in Win-10. No miss-alignment issues, and the short cord is nice and portable. It's also nice that that shape and pads angle up in a way that helps your card stay securely in place, and that the LED lets you know when it is properly inserted and read.

If someone is interested in that, you need to install AvTunProxy and enable Belarusian VPN, because some certificate authorities are unavailable for IP addresses outside of Belarus.After AvTunProxy updated the certificates list, it would be possible to authenticate on the Belarussian government websites with a government ID.

I purchased two of these at one time because I've learned most of these card readers only last about 6 months and they go out without warning. Since I need them to do my job, I like to have one on backup. Anyway, the first one lasted about 3 days. On the third day, it just wouldn't light-up for no apparent reason and was dead! I immediately got the second one out. It was fine at first. After about 3 hours, I unplugged it from one side of my computer to move it to the other side to make room for my charger. When unplugging it, the metal part pulled away from the plastic part and...it was dead! It should not have been this "flimsy" and easy to brake. My next issue is I had trouble getting a refund because it had been more than 30 days since I purchased them. I didn't use them right away because I purchased them for "backup." They finally agreed to give me a credit for 80%, so I was only out for 20%. When I returned them, I wrote on them with Sharpie that they are defective, so hopefully they are not resold.

I got this one because I have a MacBook and all the cac readers at work are regular usb. So it’s easy to access things I need at home without having to go on base :)
