Awesome all around, somehow better than the first book. Exceedingly well written and put together, an all time page turner that needs to be read.

Brilliantly researched and beautifully written - like all Rick Atkinson’s books!

I've just started reading the book, but I can already tell Rick Atkinson has surpassed himself. The book is deeply researched as well as being a pleasure to read. Academic historians may well envy the author's ability to write books which are popular as well as significant contributions to the literature on the subject, but they cannot deny Atkinson's greatness as an historian. Now I must get back to my reading!

Michener told a great tale, fiction, using historical facts. RICK ATHINSON tells a a true story, fact not fiction, using historical facts - and keeps it a stupendous and great read. Arrived promptly, picked it up, opened and then read sections of it, that I had interest in more than other areas, learned something NEW. Now I can read it cover to cover - three or four times, while I await the Third and Final installment. MR. ATKINSON is probably the only living great author in the USA. If you a history buff - is a must read - and worth it as well.

Confession: I have not finished this book yet. The book only arrived this morning, but I haven't put it down. In my mind, Atkinson provides the perfect balance of scholarly history with a very accessible and readable style. Similarly, he balances history written from the top down ( big picture strategy and perspective) with history from the inside out ( you feel as if you are there among the people experiencing it in real time with the same thoughts and emotions).I've read the Liberation Trilogy several times ( my father was injured during the allied invasion of Sicily and The Day of Battle helped me understand what he must have gone through). I think I am destined to read this trilogy as many times.I just hope that he doesn't make us wait as long for volume three!

A superb continuation in the Revolution Trilogy. Great portraits of Ben Franklin and Benedict Arnold.Can't wait for volume #3!

Fantastic Book to obtain !! A must read for Revolutionary War Historians !!!

A very deep dive into the Revolutionary War, written with an easy style that teaches much by flowing smoothly from the perspectives of England, France, and America. Looking forward to the next (final?) installment.
