Good value. Strong sound. Nice looking.

I was fascinated by the whirling sound that appears on a number of CAKE songs. Saw them in concert, and still didn’t quite know what it was, but saw it was something that John McCrea would “play” at those certain spots in the songs. A little internet searching and voila - the vibraslap! Also learning along the way that it has been used in a lot of songs spanning decades. A great little percussion instrument.

Great product, works exactly as it should. The one thing you need to know is that it comes in a small box, so they turn the vibrating chamber sideways. If you leave it that way it doesn't make much sound. You need to loosen the wing nut and rotate the chamber 90 degrees and retighten the nut. That is the proper orientation of the vibrating chamber and now it will make the "Vibra slap sound" when you strike the wooden ball.

This is the original vibra slap and the one to purchase if you want to have that iconic sound that you hear in all the songs. I'm only giving it 4 stars because it has been a little rattly since my friend dropped it.

Even though they called this the “deluxe” model, it’s really the sound we’ve heard on records and in performance for the past half century. That is to say, don’t get the smaller one, which sounds tiny and fuzzy. Spend a few extra bucks and get this deluxe model. Easy to play, easy to adjust, and that wonderful vibrating sound. Two thumbs up.

I'm an amateur musician, and I like to collect interesting instruments. The Vibra-Slap is heard in many popular recordings, and it's fun to use. This model is very well made, and has that authentic sound. It's fun to use, and children can easily use it as well. It looks well made, and it should stand up to some serious slapping.

This is an extremely well made and enjoyable latin sound. I bought it to for a specific need in a musical I am performing in but will use it's sound in other music. I love the power it provides when mounted to a stand - I was worried that the audience wouldn't be able to hear it without miking but that hasn't been an issue.

Great for sound effects and just what i remembered using in school bands. Now have one to add to my own collection of toys

Vibraslap

Sounds lower pitched and has a great tone. I wish it vibrated a little longer (probably my technique though) but overall very happy. Arrived in Australia within days.
