All soaped up.
A brilliant bit of kit, and rechargeable. Works well and is rather posh 👍

Automatic Soap Dispenser
Does exactly what it says on the Tin. Waited some time after purchase before giving my opinion. Have used this dispenser every day since purchase using the soap recommended and so far it’s not failed me once where as others i have purchased have failed soon after purchase. It’s reasonably easy to fill the soap compartment and using their own soap, they have several different perfumed ones. It takes 4 AA batteries which last a long time. On the above basis I would have no hesitation on recommending this model hand cleanser to anyone I wanting one.

Nice dispenser, shame about the soap!
I really like this soap dispenser - mainly because it looks good and you don't have to touch it. It's very easy to operate - just hold your hand underneath the spout and out comes the soap. The amount of soap dispensed can be easily controlled by pressing a + or - symbol on the dispenser. The dispenser looks stylish in the kitchen or bathroom and I just like the no-touch operation. It's also good for kids - better than them pressing down a dispenser on a liquid soap bottle. It's easy to re-fill and a red warning light on the unit indicates when the batteries need to be replaced.I have bought several of these soap dispensers in the past. I find they last about a year or so, with regular use. For me, the main problem is that the manufacturer clearly states that they are designed to be used with simple human soap. They supply a sample of this with the dispenser. The soap has a lovely lavender smell and does the job; however it is REALLY EXPENSIVE! So I fill my dispenser up with my favourite liquid soap, which happens to be Baylis and Harding's Jasmine and Apple Blosson Antibacterial handwash - I mention this because it's white and looks good in the dispenser! And you can buy it for £1.50 a bottle on Amazon if you search around. - However, it is much thicker than the simple human soap and I'm sure this affects the use of the dispenser over time. But, if you work out the maths, I think it's probably cheaper to buy the cheap soap and replace the dispenser, rather than buying the super-expensive soap all of the time (although for all I know, the dispenser might not last with the expensive soap either!).Another slight drawback is that sometimes when cleaning or moving the dispenser, the sensor gets activated and a load of soap shoots out. It's easy enough to clean up, but it does sometimes catch me by surprise! However, all that being said, I like this dispenser. I've bought it in the past and I would certainly buy it again.

Every Home Should Have One
It's well packaged. Arrives pretty quickly. Great delivery. It comes with a complimentary packet of hand soap. It's well made. Strong and sturdy. The opening at the top for pouring in the soap is wide and easy to access, therefore making it very easy to refill the soap dispenser. The sensor is sensitive so as soon as it detects your hand soap is dispensed. The amount of soap to be dispensed can be set by pressing the plus or minus button on the top. Good performance, long battery life, splashes from hand washing doesn't affect its performance. I have never regretted buying these and never will, great product, well made and worth every penny. A definite recommendation.

Failed within a year
Have bought two of these and each one last less than a year before packing up. Would avoid.

Automatic soap dispenser you should be able to use for shampoo as well
This automatic pump was purchased as a dispenser for shampoo rather than soap so let me say from the outset that Simple Human (from whom I sought advice before I purchased it) do not recommend their products for any liquid having a thicker-than-soap consistency. I have been using the dispenser for about three weeks and, so far, it has performed without problem. A minor point is that, although the volume dispensed 'per squirt' is variable, it does not offer much adjustment and to get the right amount of shampoo, it is necessary to make the unit do four or five dispenses. That's not a criticism of the product at all - it is designed for soap and the amount dispensed each time would be fine for that. I was concerned that the thickness of the shampoo might cause the dispense nozzle to become blocked but, so far, it works fine each time I use it. Being able to see the level of remaining product is sensible - the company makes a newer rechargeable version which, though more expensive, is less practical because the reservoir is solid and you can't see how much soap/shampoo is left until it has run out. On experience to date, I would therefore recommend this dispenser, certainly for soap and, if you are willing to take the long term risk, for shampoo also. If anyone from Simple Human reads this, how about making a dispenser that is actually designed for shampoo? There must be a market for this but just make sure it has at least a window in the container to monitor the content level. Getting in the shower and realising too late that there is no shampoo left is going to be irritating.

The Best
I have purchased a few automatic soap dispensers over the last couple of years costing £54 - £20 they worked at first but eventually I started having problems with them not charging, working intermittingly, now I have the simplyhuman ST1018 and it is the best yet, good design not too big very sturdy and simple controls, some reviews have said there is no on/off switch?? there is press and hold the "minus" button to switch off, or press and hold the "add" button to switch on, press the same buttons once each time to adjust the volume off soap dispensed, it's all very easy and changing the batteries when there is liquid soap still in it is not a problem just tip it on it's side the liquid soap will not come out and change the batteries, also the simplehuman liquid soap is too expensive the product works just fine with other makes of liquid soaps.
