OXOGood Grips Large Wooden Spoon

Q: Has anyone had a problem with the wood splintering and/or tiny wood shards flaking off?

My spoon split in two separate places (with shards of wood exposed in the splits) during the second time using. This was not made from one piece of wood. I oiled the spoon before first use.

Q: How long is the wooden turner? (not spoon)

12.75 inches! - I just bought a set and will have to return it since my hand would have to be in the soup to stir it with an 11" stockpot. Had to use a vice grip to stir with my 12" turner but this is no better. Especially when I'm seeing 14" on some descriptions :(I'm making my own turner out of tons of oak I have at home but you can get the Winco Wooden Stirring Paddle, 36-Inch, for $11 with Prime & cut to size or pay more for the 24" without Prime.I'll also order the 36" turner and cut to size since I'm not sure how well Oak will hold up in boiling hot seafood chowder.Good luck!

Q: The describtion says the wooden reamer has a 'natural oil finish.' What kind of oil has been used to finish the reamer?

Have no idea what kind of oil was used to finish the reamer. Mine has been washed many times but still looks brand new!

I think it is too thick to turn eggs.
