Exploding Kittens Catchables Age 8+ 2-Pack #2 2-4 Players - Ages 8+ - 10 Minutes to Play - Collectible Toy Tossing Game - Party Game, Family Game Night, Kid and Adult Card Game, Pink

Fun and novel game, great to play with kids, compliant teens and adults. You need to have a bit of a sense of humour and not mind making a bit of a fool of yourself though…! So one teen in our group wasn’t particularly keen. She loved watching us all play from the sidelines though! Reasonable value and great that you can mix and match with other packs, but it doesn’t have a huge amount of replay value.

Fun game, nice gift!

These New Catchables from Exploding Kittens are yet another example of the fun gameplay from this brand . This set includes two of the Catchables - ‘Cat Wearing A Cat ‘ and ‘Catcus’ . There are 10 others in the set but you only need two for a competitive game . Each Catchable has its own unique set of 12 cards ranging in difficulty from very easy to quite tricky - that challenge catching skills , reflexes and multi tasking . Great design ,the Catchables are squidgy and a good shape for juggling too . They sometimes bounce off the end of your fingers. You need space ,energy and a level of physical ability in throwing and catching - the first to do 5 card actions on their throw wins . It’s not as easy as it sounds and as with all EK games the play can change in an instant. Great fun , all ages bring their own skills and we’ll be looking forward to collecting the others and adding them to our game .

A twist on a catch game suitable for all ages, although adults will have the advantage of larger hand size making catching easier. Its a simple game so no long instructions to understand, so you can play immediately. As no doubt clear you have to complete tasks and catch at the same time and if you can complete five you win. The tasks very in complexity and so ideally the longer the cat is in the air the easier it will be. Alternatively you need super fast reflexes. Best played in an open space with nothing to damage as the catchable cat can fly off in any direction if thrown wrong or at times rather than catch it the cat bounced from the arm or hand -so best played not near any breakables . Kids loved it and gets them away from screens which is always a plus!

I feel that this is ultimately aimed at younger audiences which isn't a bad thing specifically. Playing on this is the collectibles nature of both the cards and the cats themselves in that you really need multiple sets to keep the game fresh and interesting. The cats themselves are relatively small however this isn't a massive issue as they are intended to be thrown and caught by smaller and larger hands alike. The material of them is a squishy stress ball like foam which makes for them being quite safe should they bop someone on the head. Fun enough but a touch expensive if you want to complete the set.
