Portable, Versatile and a Highly Capable Device
The HowKow 4K Nanny Camera is, for all its intents and purposes, a handy a capable little device. What makes the 4K Wireless Nanny Camera so handy is its cubic 1.25” proportions and its onboard rechargeable lithium battery; as it is, the camera can be relocated at will. Its perfect cubic shape and black color makes it a perfect as a nanny cam, as suggested by the seller. And if your phone has Wi-Fi hotspot capability, according to the user manual, the little camera can even be connected that way, in situations where there’s no local wi-fi available. The camera lens’ angle of view is quite wide, and although it’s stated to be 4K resolution, it doesn’t enlarge too much before becoming pixelated, the point being not to count on enlarging for small details. Otherwise, it live streams a bright, clear image and I found there to be practically no latency, however that will depend on individual connection quality. A fully charged battery supplies about three hours of use, and the app will let you know when it’s time to recharge. For continuous use, the user will need to provide their own power supply in the form of a charging block; an unused phone charger will work. The camera is supplied with a USB-A to Micro-USB power cable.Use of the camera will require, yet again, another app, the O-Kam app. Pairing the app to my Wi-Fi was simple, quick and trouble free. There is a cloud subscription service available for archiving camera events. Occurrences can also be recorded to an onboard SD card; an SD card is not included. Thus far, I haven’t found the app pushing any obnoxious advertising, just a tiny, unobtrusive icon at the top of the streamed image as a reminder that a subscription is available. The app allows for a variety of useful settings, including motion detection and human framing; a frame will be drawn around any people or person detected. Of course, you can also allow notification to be pushed to your phone if motion is detected. An activity zone can be defined around a subject of interest, for example a crib, so that all motion outside the zone is ignored. Live sound transmittance can be enabled and disabled. Screen shots and video recording can be instigated right from the live screen. The device also has a night vision mode. Like I said, for a $20 camera all of 1.25” cubed, it’s quite capable. In addition, the little camera is Alexa compatible. The HowKow 4K Wireless Camera is supplied with a tiltable stand that can be mounted to a surface with the included screws and anchors. The camera is fitted with 1/4" brass threads into which is threaded the included stand. Or, the stand can be attached to a surface with the provided 3M adhesives. Additionally, in the packaging is the aforementioned USB power cable and a user manual. All things considered, it’s a very good value.

Terrible
What a piece of junk. Too bad zero stars is not an option. The connection instructions are not even helpful. Never had an issue with any other wifi camera. Waste of money and going back.

Great picture and tiny size, but...
I bought three different small security cameras at the same time and compared them to each other. Of the three, this one has the best resolution, even though all three say they are 1080P HD. The picture is very clear, and I can zoom in on it with my phone (I don't know whether the zoom is in the device or the phone, probably the latter, but it works well). There is also a mini-speaker and mic built-in, like most security cameras, but I didn't get it for that. What I really got this for is to use as a wireless camera to get remote views at an activity. Since it does not require any wires, I was able to locate it in areas I've been unable to consider before now. It connected to the building wifi without problem. I did not experience any problems setting it up.Another thing I like about this is that I can disable the logo and timestamp, which I was not able to do with one of the other cameras. I was using this for a Zoom broadcast and did not want any information displayed. It does include a hole for mounting it on a tripod, and it comes with a charging cord; the end is the old-style connector that was popular 5-10 years ago, but not so much today. Oh, it also includes a slot to insert a micro-SD card for localized recording. There is also motion detection, though I turned that off for my activity. The one downside to this camera, and it's a big one, is that the battery only seems to last a couple of hours between charges. At least that's what I experienced after charging it a couple of times. I think I saw something in the paperwork as well that said something to that effect. I would have given it five stars if not for that.

Decent little security camera
I got this and wasn't expecting too much. As usual, it's size is a bit larger than you'd expect. But I wasn't needing some James Bond type camera.Setup was a breeze—just a few minutes, and I had it connected to my Wi-Fi and monitoring my space through the app. The app itself is user-friendly, allowing me to access live footage, playback, and even receive motion alerts directly to my phone. I love that I can keep an eye on my home from anywhere, giving me peace of mind when I'm away. The quality isn't the best, but it's definitely not too bad. Battery life is also not that impressive, but again - you can't expect too much with something like this and at this size.Overall, this camera offers a decent value for the price. Try it for yourself but temper your expectations.

I dunno
The media could not be loaded. Concerned that “reset” is required before setup.Watch attached video to judge quality. The camera is okay, but it becomes sub par once you turn on sound. It desyncs pretty badly for any length of recording. Took off 1 star for this. If it didnt have night vision, I would take off 2 stars.I took off another star because of the app. It asks you nonstop to sign up for cloud storage. Its on every page practically.I took a screenshot of each page in the app so you can see everything not able to be seen in the recording. The human frame and ai features, along with the required reset before use are red flags to me. This is a chinese product after all.The quality alone and price should tell you something.
