The Fi Series 3 works well overall, but the battery doesn’t hold a charge as long as advertised. To add to the frustration, a new model was announced just a week after I purchased mine, which I would have preferred. That said, it’s still an important tool for my very hyper golden retriever rescue, who is a known flight risk. He’s escaped before, and having a reliable tracking device gives me peace of mind—even if it isn’t perfect.

This is the 2nd Fi 3 I've purchased as I needed it for my (at the time of purchase)8 month old puppy that is an escape artist and social butterfly. My 3 year old, Axel has had his for over a year and I really like the peace of mind knowing he's wearing a gps collar. It's really easy to set up and the app is super simple to navigate. If you purchase a longer subscription especially with multiple dogs the value is pretty decent as well. The only issue I have is the collar Fi sends with the gps unit. For larger dogs, or a dog that wears a wider collar I believe they are just not wide enough. Also, the gps unit is attached to the fi issued collar as part of the collar its self similar to how the buckle is attached. I don't like the stress that puts on the unit so I have purchased other collars from fi approved makers that attach the unit on top of the collar. No issues with it falling off my boy's collars and they are ROUGH players both weighing over 80 pounds and Axel thinks he's part fish and has done a ton of swimming wearing his. the "track lost dog" setting has worked brilliantly when Tonka has taken off on me and is running amok through our neighborhood. Not sure on the actual distance range as I live on a dead end road that's probably quarter of a mile long with about 15 houses on larger lots (old neighborhood without cookie cutter houses jammed in next to each other and every house has an actual front and back yard) give or take and I've always located him on our street within minutes of noticing he's escaped. The light you can activate has been a life saver when trying to find him in the dark. Anytime I've taken him to training classes, dog competitions or miles away from "home base" ive been able to look at the route and stops made according to the fi. I also really like the health and sleep tracking and the ability to add other ppl including your dog walker to your dog's profile and they have access to the info. My father and boyfriend are on my dog's profiles. I would definitely recommend fi as a great option for a dog tracker gps.

Purchased as a gift for someone - they don’t use it but it is a great product.

Bought as a gift for a friend whose dog got loose and made it home the next day. This collar's system has more than once since it's gifting helped the owner to retrieve his 10 year old dog. The dog did not normally "wander" but when a second, younger dog joined the family, it began. The ability to draw "home area" in the app saves the battery by not checking in as much (or so it seems) and the charging cradle makes the recharging easy for my friend. It appears you can add cradles if necessary to expand home reach, but check with the manufacturer on that. A great gift for any dog owner where there's a chance the dog may run.....notifications so far have been FAST, and I'd recommend it! There are many collars out there that do similar things, but when comparing recently with strangers who had a different brand, they liked the fact this one had more options on the App and that it seems to pinpoint more exactly than most. Peace of mind for dog owners for sure.

Set up was extremely easy. I like the diversity in mapping out your safe zone. The charger is really neat. Just like a cordless iPhone charger! Just set it down and charge. I have a 60lb American bulldog and the Large fits her perfect. Edit to OG post: My senior dog has dementia and likes to wander sometimes. I love the app to be able to see her sleeping habits, when she’s most active, and of course her location. The battery life is amazing. I swear I can go a week or more with out charging. That is IMPRESSIVE. This thing literally saved my dog’s life. One day I got a text AND app notification that she had left home. I pulled over and zoomed in on the map and saw her and a body of water. I instantly called my mom that lives a mile down the road to go and get her because I was about 10 minutes away. You're able to add an emergency contact and it will share the dog’s location as well as alert them when they’ve left home so you’ve always got a backup person. I did that and she was able to find her easily. By the time I was almost home my mom had called and said she had to jump IN THE POND and get her because she was bobbing up and down. She said if she wouldn’t have gotten there when she did then she definitely would have drowned. OBVIOUSLY IM GIVING A FIVE STAR REVIEW. This is an amazing price for this collar. I also decided to get a “shock” collar for her too. The one I purchased was $600 and isn’t worth that much money at all. I WOULD pay $600 for the Fi collar. If your dog likes to venture out, GET THIS. It could save their life 😊
